BRIAN BULL – High Concepts / Elevator Pitches
VISION!!!
My ultimate goal is to get my scripts from my hands to the SILVER SCREEN!!“What I learned from doing this assignment is…
I been playing around with this since the beginning and I think I have finally nailed it.ASSIGNMENT
Tell us your High Concept and Elevator Pitch.
To find your main hook, give us what is most unique about your lead character’s journey from a big picture perspective.A fisherman’s determination to catch the fish that he blames for his brother’s death.
2. How can you tell it in the most interesting way possible?
Goal/Unique Opposition
3. Using the 10 Components of Marketability, what is your Elevator Pitch?
I’ve written a script called… “THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY” – It’s about… a fisherman trying to catch a catfish for 25 years that he blames for his brother’s death, in the end, he catches the catfish and realizes the startling truth: he himself was “The One That Got Away”; needless to say – to his surprise…it is ONE BIG CATFISH.

Margaret’s High/Concept/Elevator Pitch
What I learned: Different ways to compile an elevator speech.
High Concept=St. Patrick fights the goddess Morrigan and creatures from Ireland’s otherworld in a death-defying battle to bring God’s love to the Irish. Inspired by the life and legends of St. Patrick.
Elevator Pitch
Writing a story about St. Patrick facing the goddess Morrigan in a death-defying battle to save an Irish king.
What is unique? A human fighting for the High King of Heaven against Ireland’s goddess of the otherworld.
Dilemma: Would you escape slavery only to return if it meant serving God?
Main Conflict: If St. Patrick were to be pitted against Ireland’s goddess, Morrigan, who would win?
What’s at Stake: Would Patrick be willing to sacrifice the life of another to save a nation?
Goal/Unique Opposition: How can you fight a goddess if you are only human?

Tell us your High Concept and Elevator Pitch.
To find your main hook, give us what is most unique about your lead character’s journey from a big picture perspective.SFC Miles Clark and his unit risk everything to save a widow and her children from certain death.
2. How can you tell it in the most interesting way possible?
This script intertwines the action-drama genre with a humanistic approach.
3. Using the 10 Components of Marketability, what is your Elevator Pitch?
I’ve written a script called… Left behind. Letters from Baghdad – It’s about… SFC Clark’s struggle to protect the widow and children of a murdered Iraqi interpreter from a terrorist who seeks retribution.
The script presents a unique perspective on the Iraq War by focusing on the personal journey of SFC Miles Clark.
