Subject Line: Claudia’s Intriguing Moments
My vision: To become the best screenwriter I can be, and to find success in the industry.
What I learned from this assignment is how, taking these steps one at a time (reveals, emotional moments, intriguing moments) results in a multi-layered and sophisticated outline.
Give us a one sentence explanation of the intriguing moments in each Act of your project. Like the example above.
Act 1:
· Mystery: As she goes off to war, why are Grace’s parents telling her not to “disappoint them”?
· Hidden Identity: Ann is a lesbian.
· Mystery: Why does Booker reject any idea of a relationship with Grace?
· Mystery: Why does Rachel balk at treating a Russian soldier?
Act 2:
· Secret: Why would Grace blame herself for following the doctor’s orders?
· Superior Position: Audience knows by now that Ann is a lesbian and is falling for Grace – but Grace doesn’t know.
· Intrigue: Why is Grace wandering around the new town? What is she looking for?
Act 3:
· Scheme: Grace, Ann and Rachel circumvent their commanding officer so they can treat Black soldiers as well as the White soldiers.
· Covert Agenda: Their commanding officer tries to sabotage their efforts.
· Secret: Why won’t Grace tell Booker what she was doing when she returned from town just before curfew?
Act 4:
· Hidden Identity/Wound: Booker’s father was lynched for being too friendly with a White woman.
· Covert Agenda: Grace asks her brother to find Booker, who is MIA.
· Hidden Identity: Grace and Booker discover that Ann was wealthy enough not to need to work. And she is giving everything to her kid sister.

My Vision – I want to be a great writer who is well-respected and recognized in the industry, with successful books published and blockbuster movies produced. I want to create a successful movie franchise that audiences all over the world will love, rave about, look forward to, and continue to enjoy many years from now.
What I learned from doing this assignment is discovering and creating intriguing moments.
Genre: Science Fiction Thriller
Title: Realm: Gates of Wrath

ACT 1:
Secret: Reverend DuVernay takes part in a recurring ritual with an extraterrestrial warlord but his supporters, followers, and the media is completely unaware of this.
Covert agenda: DuVernay riles up his audience and instigates the youngsters in a stirring public speech. He primary focus is to build his political support by feeding off of their emotions.
Hidden identity: DuVernay speaks with class and shows his charismatic and flamboyant side in the public media. When in private, he tortures men and lusts after women.
Scheme: DuVernay organizes a clandestine mob attack to sabotage Professor Campbell’s conference regarding his peaceful philosophies. He sees Professor Campbell as a threat to his political career.
Secret: Trevon drives his father home upon his request. Gets an earful from him but disagrees with his ideas and stubbornly refuses to listen to him. Deep inside, he doesn’t want his father to become a target by DuVernay’s mobsters.
Mystery: Sean wakes up, befuddled, from a strange nightmare where he sees Trevon and himself traversing an alien landscape holding a cipher in their hands. What are they doing there? And where is that cipher guiding them.
Mystery: Professor Campbell is murdered inside his own home. Who could have done that?

ACT 2:
Intrigue: Trevon suspects DuVernay’s hand in his father’s murder. But how would he find out?
Cover up: DuVernay extols Professor Campbell in public. He’s covertly trying to subdue any negative propaganda arising from Professor’s murder.
Covert agenda: Trevon asks his mobster friends to get him some information on DuVernay. He doesn’t realize his mobster friends are compromised and are actually working for DuVernay.
Scheme: DuVernay orders his mob of supporters to keep a tab on Trevon. He’s trying to silence him once and for all.

ACT 3:
Intrigue: The forensic experts can’t catch a break. The fingerprints and DNA gathered from the crime scene doesn’t match anyone on this planet. Determined to find answers, Trevon and Sean sneak into Professor Campbell’s house in the darkness of the night, wading through the endless yellow tape. If it’s not DuVernay, who could the assassin be?
Mystery: Their focus falls on a cryptic cipher scribbled on the bedroom wall. Sean’s face drains of color as it’s the same cipher he saw in his nightmare.
Intrigue: Trevon realizes he must find the assassin’s purpose. To do that he needs to find a way to inter-dimensionally travel to an alien world in search of the assassin. How could he possibly do that?
Secret: Sean is the only one who has the expertise of interdimensional travel. But he refuses to cooperate citing the dangers, complications, and time constraints involved. Why is he not showing his willingness to help? What is he actually afraid of?
Mystery: Trevon and Sean embark on a dangerous interdimensional voyage to an alien world. They only have forty-eight Earth hours to complete the mission and return or be permanently lost in time. How can they achieve this?

ACT 4
Intrigue: Trevon is shocked to encounter TALIYA and FALLAG, the extraterrestrial super-human alter-egos of himself and his father Cedric, in the alien world. What could this place possibly be?
Covert agenda: Trevon comes to know that his interdimensional voyage has been actually pre-planned and he was intentionally brought here on a mission. Why was he the one chosen for the mission?
Hidden identity: Trevon must pretend to be TALIYA’s friend and lure the evil genius away from 1ONTAE’s forces.
Conspiracy: Trevon conspires with FALLAG and the rebellion and entices TALIYA away from 1ONTAE’s forces.
Hidden identity: Trevon is shocked to know his father’s assassin has been in plain sight all along.
Intrigue: Sean’s return journey doesn’t end well. He loses his way and gets trapped in a distant forbidden world. What will happen to him? Will he ever be able to return to this world?
Hidden identity: A relatively unknown opponent spills the beans on DuVernay, exposes his dark side to the media and public, and defeats him in the elections.

Subject Line: Will’s Intriguing Moments
My Vision: I will write movies that are extremely funny and entertaining and bring a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment to a world starving for true enjoyment.
What I learned from doing this assignment is how easy it is to bring out the intrigue that is already present in the outline.
Act 1
Superior position: The audience is aware that the two girls come from a fairyland castle are more powerful than humans and have a covert agenda to accomplish their mission.
Act 2
The girls find out the conspiracy that Brandi is in a crime family and start a scheme to alert the authorities.
Act 3
The girls blast back to fairyland mistaking with a human and unveil the mystery of their existence until the Queen sprinkles fairy dust and the unintended guest will never remember a thing.
Act 4
The gang enacts their covert agenda of bringing all of their thugs together to show them who is boss while the girls unleash the fairies and sprites to win the fight to the superior position of the audience.
