Andre’s High Speed Writing Rules.
My success from this program is:
To learn how to write the
best script(s) of my life, so far, by dramatically improving the quality of my
writing in the genres of Action, Erotica, and Horror; while having both the
Financial and Time resources to travel the world doing so, with colleagues /
friends /peers, (the few that I have). What I learned from doing this assignment…
The Objective of this Lesson is to speed through 5 pages a day to complete the first draft of my script that matches my outline.
Definition of 1st Draft: A first draft is a ROUGH draft where I turn my scene outlines into some version of description and dialogue… no matter how good or bad. (I’m not too sure about the or bad part).
High Speed Writing Rules
Objective: Control over my ability to write at whatever speed I choose. This is the opposite of perfectionism!
Rule 1: Choose speed over quality for EARLY drafts.
Rule 2: Master writing in drafts.
Rule 3: Keep myself empowered!
Rule 4: Allow myself to start (or continue) without all the answers.
Rule 5: Keep moving. Don’t ever allow myself to stall out.
Rule 6: Anything I do not solve quickly, give it to my creative mind to process, knowing it will come to me!
The 4 Drafts and what goes into them…
Draft 1 – The 30% draft, Match the Outline.
Draft 2 – 50% draft, Solve the problems early.
Draft 3 – 70%, Elevate quality.
Draft 4 – 90% to 100%, Great dialogue and beautiful wordsmithing.
In between Draft 1 and Draft 4, I will improve this script by 90%. I am going to make 50 to 100 improvements. Allow myself to do that! It will empower me to be so much more creative!
Note: As I write, do not correct anything. The content supposedly does not matter (unless I am unable to read what I wrote, but anyway). All that is supposed to matter is “mastering” word salad writing fast. I don’t even get this.
When I find myself editing words or pausing to try to get it perfect, pat myself on the back for being an achiever and then focus on the purpose of this lesson which is to write words as fast as possible, for some reason word salad is supposed to be impressive.
End Andre’s High Speed Writing Rules.
