    Andre’s ACT 1 First Draft Part 1.
    ASSIGNMENT:
Write 3-5 pages a day until ACT 1 is complete!
    1. Do State-To-Activity empowerment process.
    • State: I absolutely love…
    • Activity: … writing this first draft!
    2. With each scene in my Outline, transfer it to my writing program and write the scene.
    3. Continue to do scene after scene until I have ACT 1 complete.
    4. Do a quick edit, but do not spend time trying to make the words perfect. Perfection happens in final draft.
    5. Don’t post the scenes!!! But do tell how I used the High-Speed Writing Rules and any insights I had about writing a first draft.
    • I used the High-Speed Writing Rules to not expect perfection, but 30% of my ultimate quality.
    • Insights I have about writing a first draft, I like to have clarity and cohesion aligned with script continuity; Final Act closes out Opening Act.
    6. At the top of the page, tell my one sentence vision
Learning how to write, the best script(s),
    of my life, so far,
by dramatically improving the quality of my writing, in the genres of:
    Action, Erotica, and Horror;
while having both the Financial and Time resources, travelling the world doing so,
    with colleagues / friends /peers,
    (the few that I have).

    7. Under my vision, answer the question, What I learned doing this assignment is…? Purpose of this lesson is to continue writing first Act.
The purpose of Act 1 is about introducing my main characters in action, luring the audience into the story, and enticing them to go on the journey with my Protagonist.

Key to my success: Stay with my outline. Write scene that are in it. I can change them later, but first let’s see what this pilot can be like if I honor the outline.
This is my 30% quality draft. Do not demand more than that. The standard is lowered to 30% so I will be able to comfortably move forward without putting undue stress on myself and my creativity.
Objective is to get the scenes from the outline so we can work with them in future drafts.

    8. Post to Forums.
End Andre’s ACT 1 First Draft Part 1.

    • This reply was modified 1 year ago by  Andre Howard. Reason: This lesson I learned that all of my Main Characters are not introduced in the First Act. Was this intentional? Does this add credence to a special Main Character introduction?

    PAM’S ACT 1 FIRST DRAFT – PART 1
What I learned from assignment. I am writing faster than I used to, but was not able to write 3-5 pages a day — only 3 at the most.
