I am looking for a partner. My script is a drama, not a thriller or a horror.
A counselor in a transition house has 6 days to deprogram a brainwashed woman and convince her not to return to the abuser she believes is a good man who is under her control.

I’m not sure if this is correct. I apologize if this is not the way things are done. If Terry would like to partner with me, I would be happy to partner with her.

Hey guys! I’m looking for a partner.
My feature “Infinity Plus One” is a slice-of-life style dramedy that hits on some very serious topics, but uses character-driven comedy to lighten the mood and finishes with a feel-good ending.
It has placed as Quarter Finalist and Semi Finalist in multiple screenplay competitions, as well as Finalist in the Richmond International Film Festival, but I’m hoping to fix a few things that have been bugging me to elevate it.
I also write horror/thriller and love comedies, so happy to work with anyone in these genres!

Hi ZABS, I personally don’t much like horror films, but I enjoy good dramas. I would like to partner with you for feedback if something resonates with you after you read my war drama Colonel Mourad’s Violin. If it doesn’t inspire a response, it’s okay. I’ll wait to see if someone else is game.😉

Annie, I sent you a “Connect” request so I can send you a private message with my phone number. Would love to jump on a call to go over our projects if that works for you!
-
Zabs, where do you live? I love the way you’re ready to jump in. I live in Canada. It’s easier for me if we connect either by messenger or email. My Facebook name is Annie Mac. My email cinemannie@gmail.com. LMK what works for you. 😊

HI ZABS, here is the feedback for INFINITY PLUS. Your story reminds me a bit of Secret and Lies of Mike Leigh, and also a documentary by Sarah Polley, plus many stories read in the news about children discovering their father isn’t really their biological father. So it remains a topical subject matter.
I like that you address how traumatized children can invent stories that could destroy a family. I also like that for once it appears that the father is not a complete asshole.
Questions: These are meant to help you clarify your story as told in this outline.
1) If Infinity (what a unique name!) is estranged from her sister, why does she care to remain in her good graces? I know TV/ movies play a lot of “family” games, and the importance of it, but many people I know have a tenuous relationship with their siblings. Also, is she estranged from her parents too, because of the alleged molestation rumor?
2) If Infinity has done a stint at rehab, would she go to a bar? And then confide to a complete stranger?
3) If Anne is so angry at her father, it is not clear why would she attend his funeral.
4) I didn’t understand the core of your story, meaning why Anne lied and what was her father’s crime if her mother was raped? And how could Infinity forgive her for destroying their family?
5) It is a bit surprising that Anne, the destructor has such a “pitch perfect” life, and the supposedly normal girl, Infinity is screwed up.
6) Finally shouldn’t the stranger be introduced in the first act?
Hope these questions help you add clarity to your outline and elevate it to tell a gripping story..

Are we supposed to post the feedback with the writer’s “one-page” or in a separate place? If so, where? Email that person? I keep getting thrown back to Assignment One, where the machine is telling me that I haven’t finished the first assignment. I have finished it and I don’t know where to post the feedback. Even so, I’m not convinced that the machine won’t kick me out as all the green boxes are already checked. Can you help me out with this? Thanks, Sam

PS: This is my one window of time to work on this. So, I’m feeling a bit like I’m treading water because the system won’t let me move forward.

Hi, Samuel. I hope you got a response from the moderator, but incase you did not, let me offer what I think might be your issue. There is a button at the end of each lesson that says, COMPLETED. If you click on that, it will put a line through that assignment and open up the next assignment, and so on.
That’s the only thing I can think of, unless there is a glitch in this new system.
Good luck, Samuel.

Thank you, Ken. I think there is a glitch in the system. I have been requesting a password change. I’ve made the request twice. I was sent a link to do it from Cheryl, but after I input my username (my email), I received nothing/nada for changing the password. … Anyway, I see that you’ve requested to partner up. I accepted. I need to let you know, however, that I am already behind due to other obligations. I thought the course was going to be self-paced, not a sprint. So, I’m making my way, but at a pace I can handle with my other deadlines. ~ Sam (samrubinactor@gmail.com)

I hope everything gets lined out for you.
Good luck on catching up. Message me when you post anything and I will try to respond quickly.
Best,
Ken

Anyone left to partner up? I’ve been traveling… trying to get caught up.
Logline: After his innocent friend is hung for brutal murders, a deputy discovers the murders are part of a string of gruesome slayings. He must leave everything behind to stop this ghost-like serial killer.
Thank you
