Rob’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is the value of distilling the big picture into a few sentences to find the essence of the story.
1. Present your Concept.
A. An ancient spirit …
B. … fights demons …
C. … in a quest to become human.
2. Tell us the World of this show.
Unique Sub-World: An underbelly of demonic beings who have infiltrated society and politics is confronted by a being who can see through their human disguises.
Previously unexplored: The protagonist can pass through solid matter and is invulnerable to normal weapons. His face cannot be captured on camera and his touch is repulsive to the living.
The unknown: The protagonist has no memory of who he is or where he came from.
The unseen: Where the demons are and what their plans are; the police investigation into the protagonist’s activities.
Unheard of Dangers: The demons are numerous and prey upon humans. They hunt for a weapon that can kill the protagonist.
Reason to explore it: Weary of immortality and the lack of physical contact with people the protagonist seeks a way to become human … and finally die.

Jean Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is that my original concept was weak. I already knew this and was prepared to keep an open mind and make changes. Spending the time on this assignment help me elevate the concept. I think it’s stronger now. Maybe a bit wordy, but I can work on that later.

A moralistic time-travel recruit learns to fix the past for the betterment of the future when she discovers she’s the catalyst to a paradox that will bring down the secret agency and she must bend her morals or die to save not only herself and the Vault but also the world.

· Previously unexplored: how is it possible/plausible without causing ripples or paradoxes?
· The unknown: What effect to the human brain does it cause?

THE VAULT WORLD: The secret world of time-traveling agents where the perk of endless life can be had but at the risk of discovery and killed for the alien material infused in their brains or driven to insanity and mutiny from within.

Janeen’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is my stories just keep morphing. the more questions I answer, the more it skews toward, I hope, more interesting and, I hope, a more commercial show.
A. An LA-based Silva/NMT practitioner inherits her best friend’s $60M farm and her twins.
B. She finds that farming is an asset rich, cash poor big business, not profitable large scale gardening.
C. To preserve the twins’ farm legacy, she must conquer the complex world of modern farming
D. before her mentor, the family matriarch, becomes incapacitated by her Alzheimers.
The world of this show:
Reason to Explore it: Farmers play an outsized role in climate change remediation and the coastal regions have no idea who they’ll be dealing with if we are to avert climate disaster. It’s time they met their saviors and learned what farmers are already doing and the incredible challenges they face.
The Unseen: Dairies and hog operations that feed America are usually portrayed like “The Waltons” with hayseeds and hicks in control or like corporate misery factories from PETA videos. It’s college educated, technology savvy, compassionate farmers and skilled craftsmen who populate this world.
Unique Sub-World: A modern MidWestern farm is more big business and big gambles than “working the soil”. Big Ag companies control supply chains. Farmers, squeezed from both sides, try to eke out a living and make payments on their assets, not so they can become rich, but so that they can continue farming.
Previously unexplored: Most people think of Green Acres, vegetable fields with immigrant farm workers, or wineries when they think of farming. Upper Midwest farming is big equipment used a few weeks per year, 24/365 animal operations, and only a meager living for the best and biggest farms.
The Unknown: Land is like gold and farmers scramble when someone dies or becomes incapacitated to woo the landowners into letting them rent or buy the land.
Unheard of Dangers: Tornadoes, hail, severe weather or drought can bankrupt a farmer in a heartbeat.

What I learnt from this assignment was just how damn difficult it is to write a longline 🙂 .. BUT the break down presented in this course certainly helps!!!

R. Reid Jr’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is a new angle of considering that someone on the team or someone that helps them is really a plant for a bad guy. I wouldn’t have found that out on my own except when I am exploring all these different worlds. It wasn’t even a type of thing I was looking at to explore any twists. But revisiting this world again and again I am exploring more.

1. Present your Concept.
• A.. An Alien named Bruce, who is a fish out of water is sent to retrieve some stolen TECH that alters minds in 60 days or people from HIS Home world will die.
• B.Thinking Bruce is just new to the States he gets advice by a neighborhood old man to enroll in a few college courses and learn more about customs and culture to help him adapt and climatize him to find THE TECH and who to trust so to adjust he enrolls in a local college to get the ‘lay of the land’.
• C. Bruce goes on unique transformational journey of becoming ‘human’ to hunt humans and not lose himself as he goes to find THE TECH.
• D. We are drawn into an intriguing world that is fast-paced and ever-changing moment to moment world that keeps you guessing.
2. Tell us the World of this show.
• Unique Sub-World: Bruce’s mission is to hunt a technology, called THE TECH, that is deemed too dangerous to be allowed to stay on earth aka SIGMA 2619 while taking college classes and not trying to fall for a victim of THE TECH who is also a classmate.
• Previously unexplored: the chase of THE TECH by a fish out of water who has memory loss and may not know which side is the right side to work with
• The unknown: who is to be trusted? From the agents to the Mysterious woman, everyone wants to find THE TECH or keep its’ secret hidden if you are not on the same team.
• The unseen: Who is the Mystery woman who has been holding THE TECH.
• Unheard of Dangers: If Bruce doesn’t work with the Agents and ever gets caught he may have to ask for help from the Mysterious woman who whispers to Bruce that they know each other.
• Reason to explore it: When the Alien is put in a bind to trust the help from the Mystery woman. We can see if the Alien/Bruce can learn more about who he thinks is his enemy might turn into a useful ally.
ASSIGNMENT: SHOW#2 KIDNAPPING OF CASEY K.
Present your concept and world.
1. Present your Concept.
• A. Engaging and highly proactive hero Ken and a few ensemble cast who are chasing down the kidnappers of Casey K. who holds too many of their secrets to not rescue.
• B. Ken and the rescuers are up against a major conflict, who kidnapped Casey K.
• C. Ken goes on unique transformational journey of trust few people to leading a team.
• D. We go into into an intriguing world of smugglers and kidnapping.
2. Tell us the World of this show.
• Unique Sub-World: the hacker who tries to find the kidnappers by hacking into different systems.
• Previously unexplored: the stories of the people who are viciously trying to defend their pasts and secure their futures against Casey ‘spilling the beans’ of their lives.
• The unknown: where will chasing the kidnappers lead.
• The unseen: even hacking into their data could lead to unknown consequences for those looking to protect themselves.
• Unheard of Dangers: having the kidnappers go after someone on the team. Or having someone on the team who is a plant within the group by the kidnappers not found out until it is too late.
• Reason to explore it: Going after kidnappers for young and driven young people with everything to loose is dangerous and exciting for the viewers to watch.
