Emmanuel has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned doing this process is to always develop your main characters in a three-dimensional manner that mirrors real life. The world our characters live in and the things they do are quite similar to how we perform in life if our lives were broken down into layers.

What I learned during this assignment is the value of recontextualization and incremental progress. It’s the little improvements that I make that slowly aggregate over time that make the biggest difference. Sometimes it’s just letting something stew for a little extra time, but it’s often useful to see some earlier part of the process like Emotional Depth in the context of the larger picture that cause me to go back and tweak it.

Hi Daniel,
I too am writing a fantasy. Would you be interested in exchanging BW Frameworls for feedback?

What I learned from the first Module and the day 12 assignment.
Every lesson deepens your reflection of the story and the characters. Sometimes it helps you fill in blanks from previous lessons. Sometimes the lessons help you brainstorm new ideas that add to your story. The lessons are facets of your story and every time you carve another angle more depth is discovered about the series.
Lesson 12 is unique because it forces you to gather all of your information and create a concise accounting of how your story has developed. It can be your first draft of interchangeable information. An easy guide for you to delve deeper into the potential TV show.

What I learned doing this process is how important this Framework helped me discover some of the missing pieces in earlier assignments. Valuable discoveries. While I feel compelled to explain within the framework using prose – I realize this framework is for my use – my quick guide to keep me on focused and on track as I take the series into further development.

Thank You Thank You Thank You for posting these links. These were the 2 sections I was having the most difficulty with so listening to an explanation will help tremendously.

Jane has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned from doing this process is that characters are the ones that make the story, particularly in a series. Interesting stories are great and work really well for programs like The Twilight Zone. But an ongoing series totally requires characters that the audience wants to see and actually cares about. I didn’t realize this going into this process. Most of my screenwriting has been for features or shorts and I’ve usually started with the story and then populated it before focusing on character development. This process (which in some instances I really had a hard time doing) brings home how a character drives the story. So, now its my characters who create their own problems in how they deal with their lives. Starting out with this class, I never thought I’d end up with a 17-year-old arsonist as my heroine!

Ben has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned doing this process is … that an instant reference 2-3 page document with clear and concise references to the building blocks of the show keeps the show on track. Using clear and concise references give you enough images about your show to move it forward.

Joe has (FINALLY) created the BW Framework!

Donna Stockwell has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned doing this process is how complete the characters are with all the boxes checked, and how much more of an interesting story they will make. The more boxes I filled out, more sub-plots just started showing up on my door step! I get more and more excited about this BW script with every lesson!

What I learned from this process is that I have lots to work with and I am supper excited about starting my Bible.

And is waiting for SU feedback.
What I learned is that the FW has given me the freedom to think more creatively and differently about characters and plot lines while not losing site of the big and small mysteries. This process is iterative and incremental and I’m sure that my storyline and characters will continue to evolve.

John Anderson has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned doing this exercise is: there is an unlimited amount of depth in any complete character. as there is in any human’s life. The more I look, the more the exposes itself as possible plot lines but, its a matter of keeping the story’s spine intact. If the characters are real, they have a years worth of shows in any aspect of their life.

Norene Smiley has completed the Binge-worthy framework and is ready for feedback
What I learned doing this assignment: It forced me to go back and rethink roles of all characters, and their relationships and make some changes. I can see how I can change and add to this as I progress in the process. A structural invaluable tool to keep me from wandering too far off track!

Marcus Armstrong has completed the BW Framework!
What I learned from this BW Framework process is that it synthesized all of my previous work and quickly identified assumptions or elements which may, independently, be useful in creating a binge worthy show, but do not necessarily work together with other elements. I also discovered that my list of main characters may need to change and I even need to change a couple of their names to better differentiate them from other characters. Since this is the first time I have ever attempt to write a script of any kind, I am pleased with what I have learned, but do not necessarily want feedback at this time.
