I learned writing a concise concept is very difficult. I wrote and rewrote these bullet points. Probably not done yet!
ASSIGNMENT:
Present your concept and world.

• A. Lane Baer, a struggling novelist becomes a person of interest…
• B. …when he is accused of murdering the history teacher at the girls’ school where he is teaching.

• D. he is drawn into the dark events to save her and at the same time balance the desire to use the twists and turns perfectly to use in new novel.
2. Tell us the World of this show.
– Unique Sub-World: The unstable, narcissistic world of a girls’ boarding school.
– Previously unexplored: how to negotiate an environment filled with female energy that can overwhelm practical behavior.
– The unknown: Where male professors can be seduced and/or used to play out dangerous games by the rich, young girls.
– The unseen: The headmistress vies for complete control of relationships of the girls, the faculty and even her own affair.
– Unheard of Dangers: A place where a handgun might be hidden in a lingerie drawer.
– Reason to explore it: Supposedly an easy way to support your family while you slog over your next novel.

R. Reid Jr’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is a new angle of considering that someone on the team or someone that helps them is really a plant for a bad guy. I wouldn’t have found that out on my own except when I am exploring all these different worlds. It wasn’t even a type of thing I was looking at to explore any twists. But revisiting this world again and again I am exploring more.

1. Present your Concept.

2. Tell us the World of this show.
• Unique Sub-World: An Alien that is hunting a technology that is deemed too dangerous to be allowed to stay on earth known by off-worlders as SIGMA 2619.
• Previously unexplored: the chase of the tech by a fish out of water tech hunter.
• The unknown: who to be trusted: the agents looking for the tech as well.
• The unseen: Who is the Mystery woman who has been holding the tech.
• Unheard of Dangers: that the Alien once caught by the agents might have to use the help of the Mystery woman (the enemies of my enemies).

• The unknown: where will chasing the kidnappers lead.
• The unseen: even hacking into their data could lead to unknown consequences for those looking to protect themselves.
• Unheard of Dangers: having the kidnappers go after someone on the team. Or having someone on the team who is a plant within the group by the kidnappers not found out until it is too late.
• Reason to explore it: Going after kidnappers for young and driven young people with everything to loose is dangerous and exciting for the viewers to watch.

Tracy El Pueblo’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is that with the five main young adults entwined as a love “pentagon,” it’s been hard to choose the lead to write about. They all work in that capacity. The young woman is of the village, whose life is disrupted when four very different men from the corners of the earth arrive in one fateful year.
1. My Concept
A.
Thomas Fisher, an escaped slave from South Carolina…
B.
… sailing for a harsh Argentine mercenary…C.
… attacks the <st1:place w:st=”on” style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>California
province of the Spanish empire and is taken prisoner…D.
… where he begs to jump ship with his Yankee bunkmate because he feels
safe from Americans.

2. The World of this show
Unique
Sub-World: Los Angeles
in 1818 is a remote frontier village in the most western and ignored
colony of the Spanish empire.
Previously
unexplored: It’s not the Mexican stereotype or TV western; California is a Catholic outpost isolated by royal
decree, hostile to enemy Protestant ships coming from the United States
on the east coast.The
unknown: Will the heavy hammer of the Spanish
government or Inquisition come down on the village for harboring foreign
criminals; will the captured Americans be
killed by furious villagers in an unguarded moment? The
unseen: Will the pirate captain try to
retrieve his men? Will there be more attacks from other countries since California has no sea protection?Unheard
of Dangers: In a male-dominated rape culture with only two priests and
many retired soldiers with few restraints, young women are few and in high demand for marriage. Spain is beginning to lose its grip on the Americas — will revolution come to California?Reason
to explore it: The early hard-scrabble years of Los Angeles can be
traced in some remnant sites around the city today, where a new mixed race of people were created, the Californios.

The Chapel where Laylah first sees Lane.
Leylah just before she jumps.
One of the Caroline Russell Brown School buildings
“This job could be the brake we need.” Lane Baer
” I’ve never understood what he saw in me.” Marta Baer
A little something to calm the pain. He saw the eye of a gun barrel coming close.
“I like it best when it’s just you and me.” Paige Baer
“The kind of love you wrote about is the purest kind of love. “ Leylah Hafez
”These pretty things are so hungry they’ll eat you alive.” Christian Savage
“Stay away from the students.” Margaret Gilgood
Oh, oh…the photographs didn’t transfer. Damn. I spent hours!

Tracy El Pueblo Visually Appealing Bible
I learned that it took a very long time hunting for the historical paintings or photos that tell my story. It wasn’t possible to get a coherent look for my five main characters. I just could not find anything historical that fit my central male character as I envisioned him. I realize this is just to give a brief overview to the reader, but the look is a key component. This isn’t a western or pioneer story in the tradition we’ve seen over and over — it’s Spanish colonial California, not 1890s Mexican or cowboy. There’s a big difference in the clothing that we haven’t seen yet in a period piece about the west. The visual portion of the bible needs to convey that. I just couldn’t quite pull it together all the way through accurately, but it’s close.

Janeen’s Visually Appealing Bible
What I learned doing this assignment is something I knew, but had forgotten. Presentations take a LOT of time to put together.
Process: I searched the internet for appropriate photos to use in my bible. That took a bit of time. Then I cut and cut and cut again to pare down the bible into more bite-sized text bits. Then I tweaked and tweaked the bible’s text, layout and photos to get everything to fit and look appropriate. It took all day.

Jean’s Visually Appealing Bible
What I learned doing this assignment is that finding artwork that fits takes a lot more time than I expected. Once I found some sites that worked, it became a little bit easier. Adding the pictures to the document took more time and a bit of fiddling. Also, finding pictures to fit the tone wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. However, I had some artwork from one of my books that fit and I put them in and it looks more professional.
