Finished Act 1
My Vision is to write an original screenplay, make a couple of calls to pitch it, to start a bidding war.
Okay, so I went back to expanding the outline and realized I was one scene into the second Act. So, TaDa! I'm finished! It's funny how not thinking, just writing, clears the road to a finished Act 1.

David Z’s Finished Act 1
Vision:
I am an interesting, dependable, successful writer that people love to work with. What I learned from doing this assignment is it’s unfortunately getting increasingly hard to let go of perfectionism… my scenes are too short, I need back story… I have 25 pages and in another five I could be finished if I don’t start adding the back story, subtext, etc. But I’m pushing through and hope I have enough story to round it all out –

Pat’s Finished Act 1
My vision is to have fun completing this class with a contest-winning script that will establish me as a courageous and original writer. What I learned was to not backtrack. I caught myself wanting to do this, just to make minor changes in some dialogue. But I considered this to be a slippery slope. If I start to backtrack I just might fall into my old one step forward and two steps back, perfectionist-seeking way of writing. I forged ahead and was really quite surpriesd at some of the dialogue that my characters presented to me during the high speed writing process.

Margaret Finished Act 1!
My Vision: To write profound faith-based screenplays that are produced.
What I learned: Taking a week off from writing threw me off. I reread what I had previously written and found myself word-smithing.
How it is going: Back in the game with high-speed writing. Finished Act 1 at 24 pages. -
Lee finishes Act 1
My Vision: I am a writer who is excellent, recognized as such by people in the industry, and has several projects sold for WGA-type fees and some of those produced and successful in the theater and/or on a major streamer.
I finished Act 1 right about our normal class time on Thursday, the 4th (Happy Independence Day)! I was proud of myself and celebrated (as I always do) with a cool snack of chips and dip. I feel like I'm and on schedule. Now it's on to Act 2

Pam Ewing’s Finished Act 1
Vision: Become a Writing Athlete
What I’ve learned: It is plodding – the plotting is done. Ha-ha. But it is typing and letting go. -
Ed's Finished Act 1 scenes.
MY VISION is to be a bankable, reputable, and industry go-to writer who’s demonstrated how to entertain and hold an audience’s attention through unforgettable characters and stories that are as enjoyable to write as they are to watch.
What I learned doing this assignment was how much fun it was seeing my characters take shape and action in the context of the story. There will be much improvement to come but for now I'm enjoying a first draft and not worrying about it not being high quality. -
James Finished Act 1
My Vision: I am a great writer who is recognized by the industry as an exceptional collaborator able to elevate any project into production and have maximum success.
What I learned from doing this assignment is…I’m getting to know my characters better. This led to finishing Act 1 using my outline as a guide. I did find myself wanting to go off on tangents in terms of character and plot details. I stopped myself knowing this process takes time to fully adapt to.

Terrie’s Finished Act 1
Vision: I am paid to write screenplays that become successful movies. My process is so solid I can enjoy my equestrian hobby while exceeding expectations with my writing.
What I learned from doing this assignment is that my outline is too short. I found that scenes between the two leads are longer (in a good way) but their sole scenes are extremely short. -
ET’s completion of Ac
Vision: To be recognized for my best work, even with money.
Lesson Learned: — What a great, smart and useful way to learn how to build a new set of habits. The more I write, the more I write! Adding notes as I go along for additions to make on the next draft.
Pretty excellent process. Thx! -
Sunil Pappu’s Finished Act 1
My Vision: I’m a successful produced writer who specializes in female-led thrillers.
“What I learned from doing this assignment is… to remind myself that I don’t need to know all the answers and to keep writing what I know and let my brain come up with solutions that I need later. I was able to power through the outline and write 20 more pages in one day to complete ACT 1.

Kathryn's Finished Act 1
I choose to be a highly creative and energized writer who makes big movies and loves her life working with the most creative people in the world.
What I learned: I think my first act is too long, and normally I would start worrying about this and go back and try to fix it, but I'm just plowing on!
-

WIM+AI – Module 5 – Lesson 5
Robin’s: Finish up Act 1. Final 6 – 10 pages.MY VISION: I aim to make my writing flow naturally, like second nature, crafting stories that resonate globally and leave a mark, backed by a supportive team.
What I learned in this lesson, I’ve reached the end of Act one faster than I ever thought possible. My process has improved from yesterday. Now when I open my script, I know in my mind, I’ll finish a few scenes in a matter of a few hours instead of a day or two. This process is refreshing and I love the way my Act ended fully opening the door to Act Two and my exciting futuristic universe I’ve created for my lead’s journey. He’s got a very tough case to crack and so many obstacles in his way. He needs a strong team. I can’t wait to give birth to them.

I learned that I had more scenes than I needed in the first act. I will need to edit and move some parts to the 2nd act on the next draft. It’s all good.-
