Completed Act 2
My Vision is to write an original screenplay, make a couple of calls to pitch it, to start a bidding war.
Well, I did it again, looked at the outline to review it, and I am two scenes into Act Three. I have never written faster.

Pat Completed Act 2
My vision is to have fun completing this course with a contest-winning script that will establish me as a courageous and original writer. What I’ve learned is to resist the temptation to backtrack and make changes to what I’ve already written. I continue to honor the high speed writing rules so I can forge forward and complete my first draft. I also learned that I’m capable of writing some funny dialogue while I'm doing this, however time and rewrites will tell if they actually remain in the script.

David Wickenden Completed Act 2
Vision: I become a writer that the industry respects and wants to work with and it offers me challenges that helps me to continue to grow and be successful.
“What I learned from doing this assignment is…?”
• State: It really is possible…
• Activity: …to have control of my creative processes.
I’m moving forward slowly. Real life keeps getting in the way, however, I try to find a few minutes each day to keep moving the bar.-

Subject: Monica Completed Act 2
VISION: I am a very successful screenwriter who has had multiple movies made.
What I learned from doing this assignment is to keep moving forward.
Tell us how it is going for you.
I’m done Act 2 and I think it’s going well. Whenever I think of something else to put into the script I either make a script note or write it on the outline for later.

Margaret Completed Act 2
My Vision: To write profound faith-based screenplays that are produced.
What I learned: I am getting comfortable with my characters. Writing is flowing easier.
How it is going for me: I finished Act 2 and am at page 50. I had to add several scenes to make it flow easier but I am right on target with the outline. -
ET’s Finish Act II
Vision: To be recognized for my best work, including with money.
Lesson: Working at high speed with an outline really makes the writing a great combination of structure and free-form writing as I develop the action and dialog.
Bravo me! -
Lee's Act 2
I finished Act 2 (page 41) on July 12.
It was tough because there was a lot of scenes with mini-slug lines as the action on-screen would shift from one place to another. I was really getting into "perfection" mode a number of times, but kept pushing myself to just keep going and not to worry if it was all properly choreographed in the most effective way yet. I also didn't have the time I'd had the week before because of appointments and juggling my outdoor bike ride times around temps over 110 degrees some days (ugh!!!).
But I'm on to Act 3 now. Still doing a good job of sticking to my outline and not throwing in any curves or whatever yet, just making mental notes of ways to enhance the script later, not change the story or get stuck doing it now. I'm having a great time, but it is hard work–but I'm excited to be moving along well.

Sunil Pappu Completed Act 2
My Vision: I’m a successful produced writer who specializes in female-led thrillers.
“What I learned from doing this assignment is… to lower my standards and write a bad draft and empowered myself to have fun writing a bad first draft. I was able to write to the outline even when I felt it was useless I forced myself to write to the clock and ended up with a finished Act 2!

James Completed Act 2
My Vision: I am a great writer who is recognized by the industry as an exceptional collaborator able to elevate any project into production and have maximum success.
What I learned from doing this assignment is…that I may have introduced a key character late. This is primarily the antagonist character where he perhaps should have been introduced earlier in the story. Yet, trusting the high-speed rules helped me notice this absence in the script; but considering this is a 30% draft, I’ll have the opportunity to correct this aspect of the screenplay in subsequent revisions. And I must say it feels good to have finished Act 2.

David Z’s Completed Act 2
Vision:
I am an interesting, dependable, successful writer that people love to work with. What I learned from doing this assignment is I can insert more suspense later, I can choreograph fight scenes later, I can add more quiet suspense later, but now I have a completed Act 2 and know what I’m working with and I’m trying to celebrate that! 🙂
I think I’ll be finished in the next couple days and then I can move on to Draft 2! It’s been hard to let go of doing it ‘right’ but every day I’m trying to ease the pressure of that and push ahead.,.. seems to be working….. step by step…

WIM+AI – Module 5 – Lesson 8
Robin’s: Finish up Act 2. Final 6 – 10 pages.
MY VISION: I aim to make my writing flow naturally, like second nature, crafting stories that resonate globally and leave a mark, backed by a supportive team.
What I learned in this lesson, Jodi Pecoult’s quote really resonated with me. I’m a film editor and I know that having choices and putting the best choice on the screen is the goal but you have to experiment with takes to get there. I find that this method of speed writing has the same elements.
With Memory Alpha, I’m out of my normal element. Out of my 98 projects, this is the only police procedural, a genre I love to watch but haven’t really thought about much to write. This project has been with me for 33 years and has never left my brain so when AI picked the two projects in pre-class, this one and a Christmas story – I really didn’t want to do the Christmas story at this time despite being really connected to it. Memory Alpha was inspired by one of my favorite Sci-fi’s and I wanted to go down this road. The scenes I’ve been writing deal a lot with my antagonist who I’m still massaging as a character. I’m also writing a sub-plot about addiction and I’m also trying to figure out some details. By speed writing, I know I’ll be able to come back to these scenes and really have the opportunity to pick another take so-to-speak and elevate them in the next few drafts. At this point, they are out of my head and on paper. They exist, so I’ll celebrate that!

Terrie’s Complete Act 2
What I learned from this assignment is to focus on the outline.
I was further into act 2 than I realized but ready to move onto act 3 -
Kathryn's Finishing Up Act 2
I choose to be a highly creative and energized writer who makes big movies and loves her life working with the most creative people in the world.
Finished all this a while ago but was on the move and too busy to post. It went well, and I loved using writing sprints to power through and keep me mindful of writing at a lower quality than I'm used to.

Jan Completed Act 2
I am happy with where my story is taking me thus far
My Vision: I am a talented and strong writer with a unique voice, recognized by the movie industry with multiple screenplays produced.
What I learned from this assignment was lowering my standards made finishing the second act go much faster than it would ever have using my perfectionist strategy

Dawn C Crouch Completed Act 2
My vision is to honor my husband with this script and write better.
What I learned from doing this assignment is to keep the tempo going, keep moving forward, and finish my outline, then I can go back and fix what I need to fix. I do give myself 5 minutes at the beginning of my writing session to put in any notes so that I don’t forget an idea or improvement as I write. Moving on!!
