    1. I’m Barbara Jacksha
    2. I’ve written four features, a handful of shorts. I’ve actually switched to novel writing, which feels like home to me, but I still find the ScreenwritingU teaching so helpful.
    3. I’ve taken this class before and used this hugely effective model. I’m hoping to refresh my learning/skills and pick up new things that I can apply to the new book I’m working on.
    4. I’m pretty sure I saw a UFO a few years ago.

    1. Barbara Jacksha
    2. I agree to the terms of this form.
As a member of this group, I agree to the following:
    1. That I will keep the processes, strategies, teleconferences, communications, lessons, and models of the class confidential, and that I will NOT share any of this program either privately, with a group, posting online, writing articles, through video or computer programming, or in any other way that would make those processes, teleconferences, communications, lessons, and models of the class available to anyone who is not a member of this class.
    2. That each writer’s work here is copyrighted and that writer is the sole owner of that work. That includes this program which is copyrighted by Hal Croasmun. I acknowledge that submission of an idea to this group constitutes a claim of and the recognition of ownership of that idea.
I will keep the other writer’s ideas and writing confidential and will not share this information with anyone without the express written permission of the writer/owner. I will not market or even discuss this information with anyone outside this group.
    3. I also understand that many stories and ideas are similar and/or have common themes and from time to time, two or more people can independently and simultaneously generate the same concept or movie idea.
    4. If I have an idea that is the same as or very similar to another group member’s idea, I’ll immediately contact Hal and present proof that I had this idea prior to the beginning of the class. If Hal deems them to be the same idea or close enough to cause harm to either party, he’ll request both parties to present another concept for the class.
    5. If you don’t present proof to Hal that you have the same idea as another person, you agree that all ideas presented to this group are the sole ownership of the person who presented them and you will not write or market another group member’s ideas.
    6. Finally, I agree not to bring suit against anyone in this group for any reason, unless they use a substantial portion of my copyrighted work in a manner that is public and/or that prevents me from marketing my script by shopping it to production companies, agents, managers, actors, networks, studios or any other entertainment industry organizations or people.

Hi, I’m Barbara Jacksha from Santa Fe, NM. I have written some scripts, though these days I write poetry, nonfiction and fiction (magical realism/curio fiction). I keep coming back to ScreenwritingU to refresh and elevate my writing skills. Right now, I’m doing final edits on what was originally my ProSeries 32b script, now the first book of a 3-novel series. Something unusual about me: animals always show up in my work. I think there’s a conspiracy. 🙂

    Hi everyone!

I’m Barbara Jacksha. I’ve written a few feature scripts, a few shorts. I’m here to elevate my writing and apply what I learn to a novel series I’m working on, one that grew out of the ProSeries 32b script I wrote. Something unique about me: I work very intuitively. I’m currently spending time in meditation with the narrator of the series, a crusty old gent who is telling me a lot of what I need to understand about the arc of the books.

What I learned: it’s helpful to look at the main components and learn from them.

    Movie: Lavender

Unwitting but resourceful hero: photographer with amnesia about what happened the day her family was murdered.

Dangerous Villain: unknown through most of the movie, seems to be a malevolent force in the family home.

High Stakes: threats to the hero’s sanity and well-being, threats to her daughter and husband

Life and Death: something is stalking hero and there’s the clear feeling she’s in danger

Thrilling because: we don’t know who the villain is and suspect it could be the hero herself.

Big mystery: what happened the night the hero’s family was murdered, and she was badly injured

Big intrigue: Is the hero also the villain?

Big Suspense: danger to hero and her family, will they survive

    I’m Barbara Jacksha

I’ve written four scripts, but am primarily a novel writer and poet. My ProSeries script has morphed into a 3 book trilogy that I’m working on now.

I’m here to learn more about adding intrigue, mystery and suspense

Something currently unique: I just broke my collarbone so it is hard to type with my arm in a sling. Expect short answers from me for a while.
