    Behee’s Hero and Villain

What I learned doing this assignment is it is fascinating that ideas come when there’s definite guide to follow.

Concept: On the planet which is about to overcome by the invisible evil spirit, only one to save the world is an outlaw who nobody likes.

    Hero Morally Right: Taking revenge

Villain Morally Wrong: Killed Hero’s family

    Hero

Unique Skill Set: Able to see invisible evil in action

    Motivation: Revenge for his family

Wound: He just came out serving prison term and haven’t seen her family for 10 years

    Villain

Unbeatable: It can be anyone and anywhere and turns whole US military against him

Plan: Take over the whole planet and ultimately destroy it when the planet serves devil purpose.

What it loses if hero survives: Not being able to take over the planet

    Impossible mission

Puts hero in Action: Murder of his family

Demands He goes beyond their best: He must defeat whole US military

Destroy the Villain: He will destroy the evil by any means

    Behee Batjargal Conventions!

Concept: Only one to save the planet from invisible all powerful evil force is the former outlaw whom the world hates.

    Conventions:

Hero: Highly skilled outlaw who can see the invisible

Demand for action: To take revenge of his family

Mission: To destroy the devil by any means possible

Antagonist: An invisible and all powerful evil forces who can get inside any human.

Escalating Action: Devil uses his dead family to fight him.

What I learned from this lesson is that it’s enjoyable to come up with ideas when conventions are definite.

As a member of this group, I agree to the following:

    1. That I will keep the processes, strategies, teleconferences, communications, lessons, and models of the class confidential, and that I will NOT share any of this program either privately, with a group, posting online, writing articles, through video or computer programming, or in any other way that would make those processes, teleconferences, communications, lessons, and models of the class available to anyone who is not a member of this class.

    2. That each writer’s work here is copyrighted and that writer is the sole owner of that work. That includes this program which is copyrighted by Hal Croasmun. I acknowledge that submission of an idea to this group constitutes a claim of and the recognition of ownership of that idea.

I will keep the other writer’s ideas and writing confidential and will not share this information with anyone without the express written permission of the writer/owner. I will not market or even discuss this information with anyone outside this group.

    3. I also understand that many stories and ideas are similar and/or have common themes and from time to time, two or more people can independently and simultaneously generate the same concept or movie idea.

    4. If I have an idea that is the same as or very similar to another group member’s idea, I’ll immediately contact Hal and present proof that I had this idea prior to the beginning of the class. If Hal deems them to be the same idea or close enough to cause harm to either party, he’ll request both parties to present another concept for the class.

    5. If you don’t present proof to Hal that you have the same idea as another person, you agree that all ideas presented to this group are the sole ownership of the person who presented them and you will not write or market another group member’s ideas.

    6. Finally, I agree not to bring suit against anyone in this group for any reason, unless they use a substantial portion of my copyrighted work in a manner that is public and/or that prevents me from marketing my script by shopping it to production companies, agents, managers, actors, networks, studios or any other entertainment industry organizations or people.

    The Character Journey

What I learned from this assignment is that my characters already have arcs but the breaking the arcs into Beginning to End gave me a clarity.

    Right Characters.

My characters not only have a deep relationship with each other but also with their setting – a place where the movie is taking place.

What I learned from this assignment is when I remembered that you said they can’t be in any movie. So, it made me think about characters that specifically fit the setting. It helped me narrow down the character even more.

    A. How did this process work for you?

I liked the challenge of coming up with Hook. I really enjoy the process.

    B. What did you learn doing this assignment?

The 3 criteria of Great Hook helped me the most. I went back and forth to check what I came up with against them.

    Hello, Everyone.

    My name is Behee.

Even though I have always wanted to write a screenplay, I have never done it. So, I decided to do it this time for real.

What I hope to get out of this class is I want to learn the process of writing a screenplay.

An unique thing about me is English language is my second language but I am speaking for 20 years so maybe that’s good enough.

Looking forward to the experience : )

    Thank you!

    Assignment Part 1.

It was good and eye opening experience when I elaborated my idea. It was challenging in a good way to make it fit into guidelines below.

    A. Only 4 or fewer characters in one location.

    B. A pitch can be written in one sentence.

    C. The 4 characters are definitely in an unique position.

    Part 2.

    Title: Training Day

    As they did it

    A. People: Many characters

    B. Stunts: Not many stunts

    C. Extras: A lot of Extras

    D. Wardrobe: They weren’t any unusual costumes in the movie so I would say wardrobe was moderate.

    E. Hair and Make up: Since 2 main characters were male, there haven’t been extensive make up as far as I can tell.

    F. Kids and Animals: One kid

    G. Quarantine: Not covid-19 compliant

    Covid Guideline Version

    A. People: Only bare minimum characters. Enough to tell the story.

    B. Stunts: No stunts

    C. Extras: No extras

    D. Wardrobe: No change of clothes.

    E. Hair and Make up: No hair and make up. Actresses can bring their own make up

    F. Kids and Animals: No animals and no kids. Denzel’s kid is only talked about.

    G. Quarantine: Covid guideline is easily followed.
