Lisandro Boccacci’s Scary As Hell Scene
What I learned doing this assignment is that you can track the emotions and make sure there are enough emotions in a scene, and that the right actions correlate to the spark of the emotions to come.
in this scene their escape route has been cut off, this is the horror situation I’m using at the end of Act 1. the rooky character’s relationship with other officers: they don’t trust him fully as a rooky and he is trying to gain the groups respect.
EXT – PARKING LOT – NIGHT
FEAR: The driver starts their car and try to drive away… but its too late…
SCARE: there’s a clink sound and then a violent tug, that scares the group.
SHOCK: their car is hooked up to a tow truck
DREAD: and the dog is let loose, viciously barking at them through the car windows.
RELEASE: They are still safe inside the car.
APPREHENSION : the other cops tell the complainer that he was used to set this whole thing up, they knew about his friendship with the younger brother
Denial: he doesn’t want to believe that it was a set up
<font face=”inherit”>FEAR: he was played and they </font>don’t<font face=”inherit”> respect him, he is </font>afraid<font face=”inherit”> at how much they </font>don’t<font face=”inherit”> like him. </font>

Lisandro Boccacci’s Scares, Releases, and Creepy moment

Lisandro Boccacci’s Monster Reveal Track
What I learned doing this assignment is seeing how all the different elements come into play when it comes to hatching out the story…everything piece of the puzzle has a functioning purpose.
A. the monster is an ex cop who is now seeking revenge on the people that took his life away. His terror comes in from using excessive violent police force.
Powers: He is protected by a circle of police officers who are willing to look the other way to allow the ex cop get his revenge.

Lisandro Boccacci’s Character for horror
What I learned from doing this assignment is to lay the foundation for my characters, their roles are clear, and it creates the dynamic for themselves on the individual level and social relationship level, who they are to each other. I can see what kind of people they are… sets the course for these characters, they serve a purpose.
A group of youtubers called Constitutional auditors are in their car getting set up by a revengeful ex police officer. I will be using, A. Team of professionals. The group is known for setting up cops, video recording them, streaming live on some occasions to catch out of control police officers. They are known to sue, officers, take them to court, on some occasions, officer lose, have to pay a large sum, sometimes they get fired, and sometimes they are sentenced to prison. They mean business.
Dying pattern is B. The characters experience the terror and survive together, but one or two die.
Leader: talks a lot, isn’t afraid to speak his mind. has a history of breaking the law. Has experience going through the court system… he learned the law… and has created a YouTube channel to get police officers in trouble.
Rescuer: one of the officers has to take action to save their lives from the out-of-control ex officer.
Moral One: he is a family man; he owns and drives the car. He is a teacher by day, and a constitutional scholar. he has partnered up with the leader to make these live streams.
complainer: one of the officers who goes along with what’s happening, complains and warns the other officers about the laws they are breaking and the trouble they can get into if they get caught.
out of control: the main protagonist. He is one of the officers who was fired, sued, and sent to prison for three years. That changed him as a man. It has also left him disfigured. In prison his face was slashed up, and his nose was cut off. He wants his revenge.
the carrier: he is the younger brother to the girlfriend. he trying to fit in, be part of the group, but also the one who gave the group the tip about the public parking lot, and how the cops are taking advantage of people there.
introvert/loner: he is another youtuber who does the same thing on his own, when he sees the livestream, he recognizes where they are located and he heads to the same place with his live stream, little does he know the hell he is about to enter.
love interest/ lovers: the girlfriend of the leader, lives with the leader, they share everything together, works as a waitress during the day, she joins her boyfriend for the thrill, loves the idea of getting back at cops. she also has a history of back encounters and drug use.

Live Cam : Horror Conventions
What I learned doing this assignment is…
Firstly, I just wanted to add a small note on the movie I watched…
It was hard for me to find a movie that matches my concept, the closest I found was a movie that came out in 2014 called Creep. This would be my second time to watch it. I picked it for its POV perspective which is the type of horror script I want to do. I made notes on the list of conventions which really surprised me because of how clear I was able to pick them out in this movie…. even though it’s a very simple movie with an unconventional story telling technique it still had clear conventions. And I suppose these conventions tie the whole thing together and it’s what makes the genre work. Working through the conventions really helps me discover the story as well. I know what I’m dealing with when it comes to characters and the situation. Going through the conventions helped flesh out the story.
so here is my list of conventions.
Concept: The monster is a psychopathic ex-police officer; everything takes place at an automobile parking lot at public park. The terror comes in the form of the auditors being set up so the officers can ‘teach them a lesson’ for getting one of their fellow officers fired… and he will have his revenge on them. His squad gave him a free pass to do as he pleases… egos are tested, and things just get out of hand. The victims are the youtubers who work as constitutional auditors and some of the other officers who have to break their own morality and oath.
Terrorize the characters: the youtubers find themselves by police officers who have let one of their own, do what he wants to them. The officers mess with the auditors and terrorize them. Things start to get when the body cams tuned off and when they begin their night of slow torture.
Isolation: The youtubers are trapped in their car surround by police officers. They are in a parking lot that belongs to a public park that has no curfew. But the officers here are known to lie to the public and gather tickets if people are parked there after 1Opm which is a form of theft because no curfew actually exits at this public park.
Death: the officers use their guns, knives, and handcuffs to kill the youtubers. They also play mind tricks and mess with the youtubers on purpose, trying to scary them to death.
Monster: The officer who was retired from the force because of these YouTube auditors. He wants his revenge on them… it was his uncontrolled rage and threat of violence towards someone who wasn’t breaking the law, that got him fired. It being all on camera from the youtubers streaming a live feed on him. He made a plan to turn the tables around and live stream the youtubers getting scared to death, but the officer’s ego takes him over the edge when the auditors aren’t playing into his game.
High Tension: it’s a standoff between the auditors and police officers…. the auditors usually win… even if things get taken to court, the auditors are well trained in the law, so they know when the officers are lying or fishing for a way to bust someone. The live streaming always serves as evidence. They have humiliated and have gotten officers fired for a long time. Payback is coming and what turns into just another day of just busting officers… turns into a nightmare situation that gets out of control.
Departure from reality: The auditors being set up in a threatening and violent situation and having the tables turned on them makes this a departure from reality. The other officers allowing the retired cop to do what he pleases is also a departure from reality.
Moral Statement:
Doing the right thing can get you killed… but so can doing the wrong thing. (I’ll keep working on it… but that’s just what came to me)
Primal fears:
I want to use the fear of the dark, that something terrible is going to happen, fear of a psychopath, fear of pain and torture, fear of death.

Lisandro Boccacci’s Terrifying Monster
What I learned doing this assignment is…how this method of jotting down the 5 different parts for a great monster really helps chisel out the potential, and the uniqueness of the new monster in creation.
My monster is a high-ranking police office, with an out-of-control temper, who is looking to settle the score with 4 youtubers that got him fired and sentenced to prison time, changing his life forever.
His terror comes in the form of yelling, getting in your face, verbal threats, mind games, lying, force, violence, and threats of death.
His mystery comes from the fact that he hides his identity from the youtubers and has the cover of darkness. But underneath that mask is a cut up face, with a pig nose instead of a regular nose.
His fear-provoking appearance is that he is wearing a police uniform with a happy cartoony pig mask, one of those cheap plastic ones for kids. He is a big guy, very muscular. He drives a towing vehicle in which he has stashed an assortment of weapons, form medieval, to flame throwers, to smoke bombs, and a sawed off shot gun. He also has a K-9 near him at all times.
His rules are that he has no laws to abide by as he is protected by his fellow officers who make a perimeter around him and the youtubers. In this perimeter he can do as he pleases, and he intends to give the youtubers a real scary show.
His Mythology would be about how when he was patrolling the streets, he came to this group of youtubers, who do constitutional audits on unsuspecting officers. Well, this officer fell prey to this group as his ego trip, violent behavior, his lies, and his rampage was all caught on a live stream. goes to court, loses, and is found guilty. Fired without pension and sentenced to prison. At that prison his face is brutally cut up and left is left disfigured for life… left with a cut off nose… as a gag he uses a prosthetic pig nose to cover the nose hole.

Lisandro Boccacci
I have written a few screenplays
hoping to learn how to go about creating a great horror script to sell or make.
I’m pretty quiet, some people find that unusual.
I’m happy to be here.
-
Lisandro Boccacci’s Height of the Emotion
1. Silas is sitting in the back of the wagon, parents pulling by horse, heading towards the trail, out the back he sees what will be the last time he will ever see his home. tears in eyes, soldiers raiding the home… very emotional… after being forced to leave.. at gun point… by the American soldiers. His mom could be back in the wagon with Silas… she could say something like..”ill be yours forever… Silas… you’ll never lose us.. I promise” Silas turns to his moms chest and cries…
2. the moment that it rains and the puddle forms… enough water for Silas to drink water…
“”
3. the moment that Silas digs deep into the dirt, to get to the roots… with the bulbs full of water, its the first time that Silas is successful.
I did it…
4. the moment that Silas kills the wild boar… he offers the spirits, thanks,
5. the moment Silas sees his mother after being lost..
he screams! MAMA!
-
Lisandro Boccacci’s Delivers Insights Through Conflict
what i learned doing this assignment is learning how to put meaning through conflict.
1. American soldier raid them out of their own farmland. they lose a lot, because Silas’ parents had caught wind that the soldier where coming they started packing a wagon early on like their neighbors… what’s revealed to the family is the betrayal of the us government upon them (it’s such a violent and sudden thing to lose everything at once, it really puts Silas in a deep trans of sadness, hurt, and anger.)
2. another conflict is when their friend steals the family’s food and water supply. Leaving the family with nothing to eat, nothing to drink except a few water droplets in an old leather water bag and a few bread Crums… also leaving Silas hungry and thirsty… in moments of desperation you really find out who are your true friends… but it leaves Silas in a very bad situation… and he has no one to blame because he allowed himself to get moody and stubborn and refused to eat and drink anything… putting himself at risk…of death by dehydration .
3. Plan goes wrong when Silas spends the day asking the other travelers for water or food, and to his surprise no one would help him… everyone had developed a mentality of everyone was for themselves… and honestly just realizing,, the overall journey of the Tribe could be shifting from the belief that by keep to their own that they will survive and it’s not until later they figure out that they have to work together to survive the trail… but the sun beats down on Silas… luckily some clouds form but even with some shade… by the time Silas can think.. he is lost … and overtaken with fear. its hear that he Panics and runs and cries out for his parents… Hes losing hope. eventually gives up and falls, and everyone passes him. it’s not that by a Miricle that it rains just a bit. that a water puddle forms where Silas is laying and is able to drink water… (i want Silas to shift here to someone who believes in miracles.) and may be the first time he connects with a higher vibration. God
4. Silas has a struggle with a wild boar he has to overcome, he has to kill it… he has no choice… and he does… and this is truly a moment of manhood for Silas…
5. The moment when Silas approaches the ferry and the soldiers, overtaken by anger and revenger, he takes the bloody knife in his hand and is focused, he has the upper hand, he could suprise them and kill them… he killed a wild boar.. cant be that different… but its when seeing his mother helping the wounded soldiers.. it totally wrecked his heart and his hatred… he drops the knife and goes to his mother with the wild boar meet.. . the family united…

Lisandro Boccacci’s Turns Insights Into Action
What I learned doing this assignment is how to pin point the profound moments in the story… and really make use of scenes but setting up these moments, that are important to the development of the character… it really solidifies in my mind how good writing works, because we don’t just go to the movies to be entertained… we want to be moved and maybe along the way learn something new..
1. well them being taken off their home is obvious the most profound moment… it destroyed their peace, their slice of heaven, it put them in hell. its sets up the entire movie
2. when Silas realizes that there is no water no food, and he is facing death unless he does something about it… that moment…
3. the moment when he is digging for the roots to collect water, he fails the first time, he has to dig deep, and use his strength, a great metaphor for digging deep within
4. another moment is when Silas is in the forest and he encounters the wild boar and is forced up the tree.. in fear.. he could stay there or face his fear and face the animal which he does.. and kills it.
5. the moment when he sees his mom helping the now wounded soldier that pushed them off their land… is a moment that breaks Silas’s hatred for the soldiers.

<div>Lisandro Boccacci’s Seabiscuit Analysis
</div>What I learned from doing this assignment is seeing how the new ways/ old ways is something that’s really important, and of course we learn best from seeing, instead of just being told, so yes through actions of the character and their failures or success… are also the audiences … through moments of action… i think in a more subconscious level pick up on the changes happening to the character throughout the story.
<div class=””>
</div>The main character losing his son is not just a profound moment, but it really keeps are main character in a dark place which would make sense considering he’s looking for the light in the darkness that he dwells in… so i find it interesting that psychologically, he does all this to stay afloat and not be complete destroyed by the sadness of what happened to his son… and marriage.
This is a great line, really tells you here what the film is about, this is the character’s belief… but all of these characters had to really earn that belief in the course of the film.
one obvious important scene is when Red is fighting off a group of hostile guys, and across from him is the horse doing the same and the trainer notices this. he picks it up pretty quick, how these two souls, horse and rider… just might belong together… its a risk to put them together from his perspective too, it could south.
When the horse and Red first start to click and going through the ups and downs, but really their friendship is profound in itself.
Charles Howard: [speaking to the newsmen after the win at Santa Anita] Well, I just think this horse has a lot of heart. He may have been down, but he wasn’t out. He may have lost a few, but he didn’t let it get to him. I think I learned a lick or two from this little guy. Oh, and by the way, he doesn’t know he’s little. He thinks he’s the biggest horse out there.

Lisandro’s Living metaphor
With each, tell us the Old Way and the Challenge, and how you think it might play out in your story.
What I learned doing this assignment is really understanding what it takes to find all of these great ideas, how they all play together, how its all layers, and how going through this process of rewriting, and thinking really brings out the best for the project, and that’s important because I know it elevated the wrting, the story, and the experience for the audience,
– 5 Should Work, But Doesn’t challenge (IN ORDER OF PROGRESSION )
1.
old way: Passive, shy, overcome with fear… cowardly..
Challenge: He is challenged when US soldiers force them off their land .
how it plays out: This situation does not play out very well for the family, and especially Silas, everything is suddenly without warning, forcefully pushed out of his birthland.
2.
old way : ; gives into anger… lacks understanding for his father, others, and the situation they are in… inconsiderate,
challenge: trapped in a mix bag of emotions,
how it plays out: because of his moodiness, he misses the chance to drink water and eat food because someone close to them steals their supplies.
3.
old ways: he whines and begs, bargains… to no end…to his parents, its situation he can t control and just can cry his way back home…
challenge: forced to seek help else where , other than his parents, he is going to have to overcome his fears, shyness, …
how it plays out: Plays out that because everyone is low on supplies everyone is turning him down when he asks for help… no one wants to give what little they have and the boy doesn’t understand how the people he grew up with and knew as neighbors are turning their backs…
4.
old way: has a habit of quitting when things get tough,
challenge: survive the night from dehydration,
how it plays out: Silas is able to collect condensation, and is able to drink water that way, but its barely just enough..
5
old way: Silas would rely on his parents for any kind of help and comfort
challenge; he has to do for himself now, he has to do as his mother instructs, for their survival, he has to collect certain plants.
how it plays out; the plants he collect are too dried up.
– 5 Living Metaphor challenges – IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER
1.
old way: the thought of going back a second time to the forest area to dig deeper for the watery root bulb, he would of quit. before having to put more effort.
challenge: has to dig deeper than before to reach the root bulb filled with water…
how it plays out: he reaches the bulb with his bare hands, is really succesful, and the metaphjore of digging deep with his hands, is a metaphor for digging deep with himself.
2
old ways: would of chosen to go back after his parents…
challenge: fork in the road, (thats the metaphor) has a choice to make between two paths, the forest, — that seems scary… or back to his parents out of fear, will most likely die form dehydration.
how it plays out: Silas for the first time chooses to not go down the path of fear.
3
old ways: giving in to anger, giving in to his emotions other than his wisdom.
challenge: seeking revenge in his heart for what happened, the soldiers forcing them out of their home,
how it plays out: he sees his own mother helping the soldier.. and that image… breaks… his heart, that has been made of stone become of what happened… but his mother’s continued kindness, even towrds their enemies melts his heart.
4
old ways the tribe would fight each other over what happened, but instead
challenges: the ferry has to been shared, the Cherokees and the soldiers, now injured,
how it plays out: the Cherokee people had the oportunity for payback but instead chose a higher road, and as tough as it is for their elders and leaders to accdept what is happening, they understand a great change is on the horizon and they cant do anything to stop it…its time to adapt and survive. the ferry with both sides in peace not fighting is the metaphor
5.
old ways : choses fear…
challenge… he is up in a tree with an angry wild boar down below.. he has to climb down and fight it in order to get back to the ferry in time to catch up with his family.
how it plays out. the metaphor, physical facing your fear and wrestling with it, fighting, and in this case, kills it and will later take it to his family to enjoy ..

Lisandro Boccacci’s Counterexamples
What i learned doing this assignment is helping see how the old ways get challenged through dialogue in the form of questioning, and the other technique which is through the demonstration of the counterpart.
*5 question Challenges to an old way
1. The scene where the family is forced out of their homes, and the boy is in denial about the situation, and his old ways of being are: Shy, nervous, hopeless, goofball.
Father” we have to go…
Silas: but why this is our home
father: not anymore… son. its time for us to move on.
Silas: but I don’t want to leave!
father: the family is our home.. as long as we are together.. does it matter where we live…
2. The old way for the boy is to let his anger take control of him and as it does, it does not serve him well. his weakness is fear… and right now the boy is scared… he cowards to his parents.. into his moms arms.. its not until later when his anger takes over that he starts blaming his father for being a coward and not fighting for their farmland. as he spends time in a mood Silas misses his chances to drink water and eat food.
mother : “Silas… I know you’re angry with us… but for your own good, will you please drink this water.. i don’t want you getting dehydrated… the heat here can kill..”
Silas doesn’t say anything and lays depressed and in a mood, in the wagon…
(continued)
Silas, please take the water… please…for your own sake…
… Silas… if you let you anger take hold of you like this… it could make you do a mistake that could cost you your life… be smart Silas…
Silas doesn’t say anything.
3. Later when Silas snaps out of his mood he goes to look for the water jug, and its gone.. he goes to his mother .. she hasn’t seen it… and their food is missing… its obvious that someone stole it… rope that was tying it to the wagon was cut.
4.For the first time his parents can’t help him out of a bind… he has to do something or die of thirst.
Silas: where’s the water?
mother: it got stolen…
Sials: is there any water anywhere?
mother” there might be some drops in the old leather bag
Silas: that’s all…
mother: you’re going to have to ask around…
silas.: .. why cant you…
mother..: i have to stay here and protect the wagon.. your father is near by .. he cant go too far off but he is asking around to see who took our food and water…
5 Challenge: The boy has to go off on his own for a while, venture away from the trail for a bit in search of the plant with the watery bulb near the root. he does fail and so when he later catches up with his mom, she teaches him how to properly spot the plant they need.
Weakness: Fear of getting lost, fear of not finding the plant.
Old ways: complain to parents to get what he wants.
mother: Silas… when we found you… you where crying… that is weakness… and there is no time for weakness… we have to be brave and strong.
father: that’s right Silas… you are my son… bravest among the bravest… son of a survivor and warrior… that potential is with in you..
mother: but unfortunate as hard as we tried to create a happy childhood for you…
father… we are afraid the time for being a child is gone… you are a man now… its do or die…now… no more play time.. understand.,,
mother: Silas… you must not cry, and you must not fear change… you must strong and not show weakness to you enemies… promise me you will always fight…
Silas: I promise.
*5 Counterexamples to an old way
1. The mother is a character that is a direct counterpart for the son, she is truly his north star and she is truly a very empathetic and loving person.
2.The father in the story… although he has to leave to either hunt for food, or fight off wolf, or be in charge of getting the wagon and keeping the family together, when he is not doing that, he is a good father… he is tough on Silas, but he has to be. .for his and their survival… parents need their sons youthful energy to help them build a new life…
3. They are a day away from arriving at the ferries to get across the lake >and at this point the boy and family are incredibly thirsty. The plants are dried up… and there is not single cloud in the sky…
Venturing around, he sees a leathery bag hanging from a donkey…its jiggling like its filled with water… he’s tempted to take it… he has knife… all he has to do is cut, take it and run…weakness: giving in to stealing but
as he does so… a man grabs his are. pull the knife out his hand and throws it away.. and he slaps the boy across the face…(this is a direct counter part)
4. Old Ways: Boy is a quitter when things get tough…
new ways: he finds the inner strength to pull himself up and not die.
Challenge: he has to make a choice, give up or hold on to faith…
Weakness: feeling of no hope, quitter when things get hard.
he’s given up and falls to the ground… but the weather saves him.. it rains just a enough to drink water… All he has to do is find that little bit of inner strength to drink the water…
the counterpart is really himself… he’s dehydrated… and close to passing out, and giving up …
5.I have this image of the boy walking towards the ferry with the wild boar meat in one hand and a bloody knife in the other… and revengeful focus in his eyes. he is walking up to the soldiers to kill them… but he gets stopped by the voice of his mother and father… tells the boy to let it go, and that if he goes forward with what he is thinking of doing they wont be able to be a family anymore and that would be a shame since they found each other and they can continue on being a family while others lost so many.

Lisandro Boccacci’s – Old Ways challenge Chart
Old ways: Ten year old Silas Scruggs, assumes the great life he has on the farm will last forever. — because of how peaceful the farmland is where they are at, he doesnt have anything to really worry about other than being a kid, having fun and going to his parents when he needed food and be taken care of. He is also a mama ‘s boy, not ragging on it, but thats what the situation has created, and because he is sheltered with his mother and father… he has also created a natural way of being shy , and passive and not really having the will power to get himself out of trouble because he never really had to, he was never put in a life and death situation where he had to handle it on his own and his parents know this when they get forced out of their farmland and onward to Oklahoma, they had to make sure they keep him safe.
He is challenged when US soldiers force them off their land .
Old ways: The Boy assumes that his parents have all the answers and when they don’t, he gets very sad, cries, but he also gets very angry, at his parents for not having answers this time around, angered at his father for being a coward for not fighting back to keep their farmland.. the boy doesn’t understand that there was nothing that he could do, that he father is doing his best to keep them alive even if it meant leaving their farmland … he is so mad that he ignores his parents to the point that it puts his own life in danger because when his mother told him to take the water they had, he was to upset and stubborn to get out of his mood so he didn’t want to take anything from his parents. but then the water and food they have gets stolen from one of their friends , out of desperation turns on the family, the family that’s been good and generous to this friend. so with the water and food stolen the boy is out of luck when he grows hungry and thirsty enough to snap out of this mood and go to his parents.
He is challenged when they cant provide food and water for the boy…he is on his own…
Old ways: he whines and begs, bargains… to no end… its situation he can t control and just cry his way back home…
The boy is challenged, forced to seek help else where , other than his parents, he is going to have to overcome his fears, shyness, …
Old ways: The boy really tries, and is even surprised that he did it… but its not enough to he resolves to quitting… he always quits when things get tough… (will have to show that early on, as a set up)
He is challenged by being pushed to the limit… literally all fails and … the the weather provides rain for the boy…enough for him to drink. .but he really had to dig in deep to go for the water. .and get over his dying thirst.
.
Old ways: would of chosen to go back after his parents…
<font face=”inherit”>He is challenged with a </font>decision<font face=”inherit”>.. to make… on his own, and he has to be smart… or else it could be a fatal for him…if he choses the wrong path… he chooses to cut through a </font>forestry<font face=”inherit”> area to try and collect more water and its a short cut… if he makes it out alive..</font>
old way: choses fear…
challenge… he is up in a tree with an angry wild boar down below.. he has to climb down and fight it in order to get back to the ferry in time to catch up with his family.
Old ways: He would of given into his emotions, his anger, give in to getting his revenge back… he wants to kill the soldiers that did this to them…
the challenge… the soldiers that moved them out of their homes.. where ambushed by revenge seeking Cherokees.,, it cost them their lives and left the soldier hurt, wounded, or dead… they have to carried across on the ferry to seek real medical attention… fastest way… but the thing is they have to share the ferry with the Cherokees… its a very complicated situation and people are scared to get on the same boat for fear of the same thing happening… and something happens that makes everyone stop in there tracks and pay attention…the mother is trying to set a good example for her son…doesn’t want him to go down that path of anger.. so she start healing and helping the injured soldiers. everyone is baffled at first… but her leading the example… other women join in… and soon… everyone is helping everyone… there’s no fight.. the son.. the boy full of rage and revenge.. drops his knife… and helps a soldier out…
What i learned doing this assignment was seeing how the old ways and challenges really fit perfectly with the structure for the main characters that we assigned as the transformable character and the change agent characters… it really solidifies the structure, locks it in, frames it perfectly.

Lisandro Boccacci’s 12 Angry Men’s Analysis
I went off the ones that were listed, unfortunately, I couldn’t find a copy and I could only find the ones that show the clips, so for times sake im going off the ones listed in the email.
Assumption of guilt – So the main guy who is firmly going to hold his guilty verdict already assumes the worst because of everything presented in the court, he also has personal experience in life and just makes the assumption that anyone and everyone from the slums is guilty and would be found guilty because it makes sense to him.
Just want this over – People don’t want to be there and that’s made clear, and every time there is something thrown into question, which withholds some from watching a game for example and that puts a real cramp in their own day…
Not caring – The majority are quick to believe the current information, its satisfying enough for most of them to go back to their lives, which is what they care more about… they don’t care enough … to the point that they don’t care if an innocent boy goes to jail… a boy like that will eventually be there anyway..
Prejudice – they’ve already got their mind up about certain people because of how they speak, or how they come off, maybe not as intelligent, “prejudice always obscures the truth.” for sure a really great line that challenges the current perspective.
Not looking beneath the surface – just like everything that was presented in the trail, all the clues and evidence point to guilty, but its all very surface. as the movie shows as each thing gets questioned, the time it took the knife, the motives, etc, when they really dig deep, they start to find what makes more sense.
Assuming the evidence is not questionable – one moment with the knife… the group argued that the knife is too unique and that the idea of a coincidence happening was unbelievable until the fonda character pulls out a knife and throws down on the table demonstrating with 6 bucks and a walk around the block where the kid lived and he was able to find a knife , just like the murder weapon,
Assuming the witnesses were accurate – one of the things that comes into question is the dots left on a the top portion of a person’s nose, those marks appear when you wear glasses for a long time and take em off, resulting on the dots, and so that puts into question did the old lady really see what she saw…
Assuming the defense attorney did his job – Interesting how people of high positions or assumed authority, we give them credit thinking they did everything that they did.. but in the room, the fonda character starts to walk and count the 15 seconds, a mention is made, “dont you think the attorneys would of went over that” something like that, indicating that everything has been looked at by the professionals because that’s there job
Assuming the case is completely logical –There’s a moment of heated discussion where one of the men yells at the other man who is testing the perspective of the kid being gulty… he pushes the man until he shouts at the other, “im going to kill you” says it out of anger, and the other men have to hold the angered man back…
in which in turn the other man says.. i know you said it but you didn’t mean it… which in turn really puts in question… anyone who gets angered and says im going to kill you doesn’t mean that that proves guilt. human nature to say things like that when one is pushed to extreme anger.

Lisandro Boccacci’s Profound ending
1. Profound truth: Letting go and moving on is hard but it clears the path to one’s future.
or / and when others hurt us, we still have a choice to either give in to the emotion and hurt back and choose to rise above revenge.
2. The mother helping the hurt US soldiers despite they were the ones that trashed their home and moved them out. Her kindness… changes the heart of the young soldier… who can’t believe that even after what he did .. she was kind to him… the boy bent on revenge realizes the power of changing hearts… by being strong enough to show kindness to your enemies.
3 The best one i thought of is a scene were a wagon pulls up full of hurt soldiers… they have to put them on the ferry to get them to real doctors that can help. This puts the Cherokees in a very interesting position where they are powerful over the soldiers… they can choose to be cruel and show them a different way.
I have this image of the boy walking towards the ferry with the wild boar meat in one hand and a bloody knife in the other… and revengeful focus in his eyes. he is walking up to the soldiers to kill them… but he gets stopped by the voice of his mother and father… tells the boy to let it go, and that if he goes forward with what he is thinking of doing they wont be able to be a family anymore and that would be a shame since they found each other and they can continue on being a family while others lost so many.
The image of the mother helping the soldiers is the strongest one that I can think of and the boy watching.
4. I can set it up early on… how the other natives think of the us soldiers, and wanting their revenge…
5. tells the boy to let it go, and that if he goes forward with what he is thinking of doing they wont be able to be a family anymore and that would be a shame since they found each other and they can continue on being a family while others lost so many.
6 What i learned in this assignment is how delivering the ending with your message at the end, it takes like a zipper effect, all those set ups, and having a focus of the message, it really creates the tread that keeps it all together.

Lisandro Boccacci’s Connection with Audience
1. I’m going to INTENTIONALLY create a connection with Silas Scrugs, and his parents, but not so much as our main character, Silas, the boy
well for all three the first one is empathy, when they are forced out of their home, its a horrible experience, yet alone, being forced by gun point.
In the beginning we have a pretty normal family for the three, there’s relatability to how the mother takes care of things in the kitchen, washes clothes, and the father is out on the farm land working and their Silas playing in the fields.
In the beginning, there is intrigue because we know something is wrong, and we know this because of the looks the mother and father give each other. They keep an ear out for news about how the US government was on the verge of pushing all the native americans off their land towards Oklahomka, lot of rulmors that create intrugue,
for Silas, once he is left alone, seperated from his parents, we start to see a side of Silas, a strong survuval side, and he is forced to face death by dehydration, but he had to find the will to contiue… and once hes alone… we wonder what the heck is he going to do… so theres a lot of intrigue there.
As far as likability, the father is a hard worker, honest, and loyal to his woman. and the mother is very caring and loving… like if the boy hurts his knee, his mom knows how to take care of him.
The boy is fun and adventurous, and likes to play alot games, he s fun and energetic so that makes the boy likeablie.
What i learned doing this assighment is how there are layers upon layers on the story structure, you cant just rush through, you have to layer it, discovering the elements one by one, and this is just another element to make sure that everything we set up for the audience for the transitional journey, once all the mechanims are ready, its still important to have the audience connect with the character to be taken through this jouney and this is important because we want the audience to stick around to go t hrough the story.

Transformational Logline
1. A Mix Cherokee boy, SILAS (10) and his family are forced out of their homeland by the US Army, joining their tribe in long treacherous journey across the states toward Oklahoma to start a new life.
2. Change Agent: Mother & Father.
the 10-year-old boy, Silas is the MAIN Transformational Character. His mother and father go through a minor change. The entire Tribe is also affected.
Choosing to use the Mini-Movie Structure 3 Gradient of Forced changed for Silas and his parents and Tribe.
MINI MOVIE 1 – STATUS QUO AND CALL TO ADVENTURE
The year is 1832, in Hawkins Tennessee, Silas is about 10, and his mother and father work together tending to crop like corn, as well as tending to their old, aged parents who also do what they can around the farmland, they are surrounded by their tribal neighbors and there is mutual friendliness and respect but also fun and sometimes jokingly mischievous but noting actually too mean spirited.
Silas is living with his family, playing among the tribe when suddenly US soldiers start evacuated everyone forcing people out of their homes, killing some if necessary. It was sudden chaos, and everyone is being shouted at to move, grab a wagon. He can’t believe what is happening…
A. Denial
C He’s just a 10-year-old boy, what does he know what is going on, he’s scared and helpless without his mother and father.
The Old Ways: Shy, nervous, hopeless, goofball
The Vision: Silas’ parents have to make sure they make it safely, protect their son, and once they do, they know they are going to have to build a new home from the ground up.
Challenge: The family is forced out of their farmland and forced to migrate towards Oklahoma.
Weakness: Sillas lacks courage and inner strength, doesn’t believe in himself.
MINI MOVIE 2 – LOCKED INTO CONFLICT
A. old ways: Anger
Challenge: forced out of their homes and accepting they are moving on to an unknown future…
Weakness: Fear, Pressure, Pride,
They have to pack really quickly, even though they already had a wagon prepared, they didn’t really think this would be happening. What I learned in this assignment is how important it is to truly understand what it is your characters are going through emotionally, not just for the benefit of the character, actor and story but for the audience, the trueness that exists there has to be there… for people to tune in and when they can relate to the emotions and feel like yeah, that’s how that goes… you’ve done a job well done…and the process of finding… is a great one… i think otherwise not knowing all these little tad bits really helps iron out what your story is and where it’s going.. fascinating how following those steps really helped discover all of this,

Lisandro’s Lead Characters
1. A Cherokee boy and his family are forced out of their homeland by the US Government joining their tribe in long treacherous journey across the states toward Oklahoma to start a new life.
2. I believe the mother and father are the change agent. They see their son, Silas, who is going through a lot for such a young age, especially having to leave his home and be forced to go on a journey to a new land, their vision is to find a place where they can be a family away from the US Government oversight and danger.
The mother is a full Cherokee so she will be teaching Silas of the old ways of herbal medicine and Cherokee heritage. But they both want to make sure Silas is safe and make sure he doesn’t grow up to be bitter and angry.
Silas’s mother is full Cherokee, so she has a lot of experience being part of a tribe, and his father is not Cherokee but is skilled in hunting and living in the woods.
3 Silas the boy, is the main character that will go through a major transformation, from being a joyful happy little 13-year-old, to being forced out of his homeland, to walk a long journey to the lake, where they take a ferry, from there they have to make their way to Oklahoma. It was a danger, treacherous journey, that many tribal Indians died. Something like that would leave the boy filled with suffering, and sadness and anger. The boy’s anger issues is something he will have to deal with .
I believe the mother and father will be transformed too, maybe they thought about splitting, or something was going on to keep them apart in the beginning, and a journey like this, forcing them to look after their son, it will bring them closer together… which in turn. will have two more children.
4. The US government, forcing them out of their homeland and then it becomes the natural forces that they encounter through their journey to Oklahoma.
5.I think a betraying character could be a close friend of the families who steals their food and water.
6. What i learned in doing this assignment, how understanding the mechanisms at play here to create something of story, the simplest elements, down to the transformational journey. finding that true nugget of an idea, and that comes with understanding the relationships and how they affect one another.

Lisandro’s Transformational Journey
1. A Cherokee boy and his family are forced out of their homeland by the US Government joining their tribe in long treacherous journey across the states toward Oklahoma to start a new life.
2 Old Ways: In the old ways, much like Apocalypto, the boy is living with his family, enjoying life rather peacefully with his family and friend. Enjoying life as a free creature of earth.
3New Ways:
They have to pack up everything and move, all by force, if necessary, their peaceful little way of living has been stripped. Thier friends hurt, or worse killed. They lose mostly everything and suffer greatly just to get to the boats and ferry across to get to Oklahoma.
4.What i learned doing this assignment is how having your puzzles picked out and placed at the bookends of the journey, really helps you connect, and helps you discover what it could be, I enjoyed the thinking process behind that, and these simple steps really helped guide that.

Lisandro Boccacci – First Three Decisions 3/26/22
What I learned doing this assignment are the simple questions one can ask one self to get to the proudness of the story, to dig a little deeper to really find the nut of the idea, and really keeping the audience in mind, keeping in mind we are building a character that the audience will hopefully chose to follow…
1. What is your profound truth? Letting go is hard but it clears the path to ones future.
2. What is the change your movie will cause with an audience? That even if people have harmed us in the past, we still have a choice on how we react and hold ourselves, and treat others. They will go form an eye for an eye, to shifting to… forgiveness…
3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through? the cause is the background, and the background happens to also be historical events.
-
1. The Change is going from toxic person to a not toxic person. Becoming the best person you can be.
2. Change Agent: Rita. well rounded good person.
Transformable Character: Phil the reporter…
The oppression is the day repeating over and over and being trapped in this sequence with what seem for eternity.
3. At the beginning we get a sense of Phil, and because its Bill Muray, it signals the audience oh this guy is funny and likable, but right now hes being a jerk.. so we know something is going on here..
4. Phil changes the most, his old ways to his new way of being a caring man.
Everybody in town is affected by the new Phill, in a more positive way, and Rita’s perspective of Phill changes… accepts him for who he really is… a good hearted guy..
5. Phil is with the two drunks from the bowling alley he realizes he can do whatever he likes, it doesn’t matter because it will all be gone the next day. At some point he becomes attracted to Rita and each day he learns something new about her. He uses this knowledge to impress her and get her to like him. However, she sees through him and rejects him.
He then goes to a dark place and tries to kill himself several times. He fails.
6. Phil tires everything but be the best version of himself. that’s the last thing that he does… and I don’t think that’s what he knew he had to do.. I think he exhausted himself tirelessly , he realizes what a shitbag he is because of how others around him react to him, and him not getting what he wants.. and by a miracle.. he is able to repeat the same day.. until he gets it right.
7. For me a great profound moment is the montage of him being rejected… he reaches a wall, where his old ways just wont get him to where he needs to be…
8. Profound lines: Phil: “I don’t even like myself”; “I am a jerk”; “You’re the kindest, sweetest, prettiest person I’ve ever seen in my life”; “The first time I saw you something happened to me”.
Rita: “Maybe it’s not a curse”.
9. Phil has changed, but it took time, effort, he took it upon himself to become a better man…
10. golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated…

Hi
you can see a full listing of work ive done on my imdb page, if you have minute, you can visit here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3849582
I’ve taken classes in the past, I’ve written on and off for a while, I’ve written lots of things, but I’ve never sold a script. Optioning scripts is the goal.
My goal is to refine my understanding of the craft, as i also refine my business sense too. I am also trying to find committed fellow writers who would like to work on spec scripts with me, and pitch decks, because I plan to attend AFM this year, and every year if possible, with the goal of finding an agent to represent me and my partners, as well as find a sales agent to help negotiate those deals.
I’m currently working as a ghost writer and for a Kiosk ad agency.
I’ve received one on one acting training from one of the actors from that movie, Dead Poets Society, I will leave to who that was up to you imagination. I can also do a monologue from that movie.
I love stories… I love acting. I love creating… I want to go really far in this industry not just in screenwriting, but in acting, and filmmaking in general.
please visit my imdb page for a list of work I’ve done, much appreciated.

I’m currently finishing the score for my feature film and soon will have a screener for agents. My goal is to get on Hulu or at least Imdb free tv, something like that to get my feet wet out there in the world .
My other goal is to network with someone from this program that has optioned scripts that could act as a mentor and guidance councilor to the writer’s group i am forming.
