What I learned from doing this assignment is I had much more dialog than action, maybe a few scenes were a bit boring, the secondary characters aren’t as exciting or multidimensional as they could be, I really could punch it up in some places, my third act is way stronger than the rest.

Title: Essence of Life
High Concept:
Grief stricken man with Amnesia struggles to find meaning and regain his former life.
Main Conflict:
Not knowing who he truly is or where he comes from.
Transformational Journey
Change he must.. The Universe forces him to fix what’s broken from childhood and forces him into shadow work.. remembers what he’s forgotten, changes everything back to what he should have been all along.
Opposition: His Subconscious Mind is the ultimate Villain-turned-Hero: Memory of his father’s horrible abuse, PTSD, long lost repressed bad memories come back first for healing.

(I have done the entire slug line part of the assignment but wasn’t sure if I should post that one here or not as far as the outline is concerned because it wasn’t an instructions to post that here. If I have to I will revise this answer!)

Also please forgive me for not getting this done a week ago. I have been suffering through 4 days of horrible food poisoning that comes on the heels of 10 to 12 hours a day without electricity during the energy crisis here in Ecuador, which is an ongoing problem still. In addition to several art classes that I took on at the same time! But now I’m dedicating everything I have to this class and my rewrite because screenwriting and writing in general is my first love!
