3. Toady ask Dmitri to gather his band mates together to maximise their Unconscious powers

Key Scene 2: Makes a new plan.
Key Scene 3: Things start going well, until…
Key Scene 4: Turning Point – Protagonist faces their lowest low.

from Hell, so he abandons at a overnight stop. Virginia has no where else to go, so becomes Percey’s girlfriend and stays on the tour
He realises that the band need to write their own songs instead, and his new found powers allow him to drive the band forward

Dmitri corners Toady and asks for help to get out of the contract. Toady tells him of a book of spells which might defeat L’Dabla
Scene 3: Not only does their plan fail, but…
Dmitri tries to conjure powers to defeat L’Dabla but he only succeeds in binding his bandmates to the same arrangement as himself.
Now they will not only have to tour hell but they may never leave
Key Scene 4: Turning Point – Protagonist faces their lowest low.
The magic dust provided by Toady is turning him into a skeletal zombie which is revealed when he looks into the miror.
He realises it is killing him slowly and he may not survive to complete the contract

Philip Has Completed Act 2

Philips Act 2 Reaction to TP 1
What I learned doing this assignment is there must be a reaction to the Turning Point
Key Scene 1:
INT.LAS VEGAS. LOUNGE. NIGHT
The manager has arranged a small introductory gig for the record company executives. The lights go down
and the band play the hits of Dmitris old band, as the audience transforms into lizards with suits.
There is deathly silence when the set finishes and only the manager claps echoing around the room
INT.LAS VEGAS HOTEL. EARLY HOURS
Dmitri and the band agree the performance sucked and get together to discuss options
Percy plays some blues standards and the decide to include them into the set.
The manager suggests they busk before the gig to assess the reaction. The people passing by
pelt them with rotten fruit and the band retreat back to the hotel
INT.LAS VEGAS HOTEL. EARLY DAY
Dmitri finds recordings of other bands in his kit and listens to them. He finds it easy to pick up the tunes
and begins to play the best ones for the band. He spices them up with riffs from the blues songs and Vincent
writes new lyrics. Percy doesnt want to sing them onstage and there performance was terrible, they get booed off stage

“What I learned doing this assignment is the need to be logical in terms of timeline and plot”

Toady is assigned to becoming the roadie while they search for Virginia
INT. Record company offices – DAY

END: Toady warns Dmitri that the locations may look like 1970s America but its actually a lot like Hell. The manager decides to plot the bands downfall when he realises how good they are
-
What I learned doing this assignment is all it takes to challenge the Old Ways is to simply have them fail
Philips Act 2 Middle Scenes
1. Outline Key Scenes 2 & 3.
Key Scenes 2
The band decide on no expenses spared hotel and travel accomodation, Dmitri points out they won’t have any money left to pay the debt
Intead they hire a cheap touring bus to drive to their gigs. They try playing the songs from Dmtris old band but the audience reaction is poor
and they get booed off stage
Key Scenes
The manager tries to sabotage the bus to prevent them getting to the next gig and they are forced to hitch hike while toady brings the gear.
There money gets stolen and they have to busk for money to eat.
They start rehearsing old blues songs which again their audience finds dated. They need to find a new direction so they include riffs from the blues
songs into their own which starts to get interesting

What I learned doing this assignment is you dont need to have all the ideas to write a scene at the start
Write your Inciting Incident scene.
BEGINNING
Toady asks for Dmitris help in bringing in some wooden logs, otherwise he wont get paid
MIDDLE
Dmitris dutifully helps out loading the logs off a trailer and then onto a machine which saws the logs into strips
Toady starts the machine and tells Dmitri to stand back, when one of the logs gets stuck, Toady goes back to switch off the machine
as Dmitri reaches in to move the log – it shifts and moves other logs on top of Dmitris outstretched arms – he is trapped
END
As Dmitri yells out – Toady deliberately mistakes the call to start the machine. Dmitri frantically tries to free his arms but his cuffs are still
caught between the heavy pieces and his hands are drawn towards the saw.
His hands are severed and he screams in agony. Blood is spurting from his hands
like soda fountain as he falls to the floor unconcious with shock
3. Write the scene for the Reaction to the Inciting Incident.
Write the scene for the Reaction to the Inciting Incident.
BEGINNING
Dmitri wakes up in bed,as if recovering from a terrible nightmare, hes stares at the ceiling and goes to scratch his head – His hands are wrapped in giant bandages
He screams into the air, as Lady D’Abola watches him from a chair. He wails at his fate as all seems lost. He needed those hands without them he has no future.
MIDDLE
Lady D’Abola
starts to test him to emphasising what he has lost, and offers him the possibility of a way back and more. Dmitri considers the offer, most rock stars die young anyway
and he gets to live forever. He does not believe and wants proof.
END
Lady D’Abola takes a bat from a cage and bites its head off , but with a few words and special atmospheric lighting she coaches it back to life.
It flies away free to take its revenge. Dmitri asks for the details in writing and someone to turn the pages. Toady obliges and after some time Dmitri
agrees to sign in blood, from the dripping bandage. Lady D’Abola performs a spell and Toady removes the bandages. Dmitri’s fingers are restored and demands
a guitar, he plays better than he ever had.

QUESTIONS FOR YOUR PROTAGONIST
Tell me about yourself.
Im a pretty ambitious guy and there’s no mountain too high for me to climb
I wanna get to the top and be bigger than Elvis, Beatles and Rolling Stones put together
Why do you think you were called to this journey? Why you?
I had no choice, its a vision thing, if you’ve got a gift you gotta go with – y’know what I mean
You are up against . What is it about them that makes this journey even more difficult for you?
They keep shifting the goal posts, nothing’s ever straight forward on this tour and I’m convinced the bands wants me to fail – take over – y’know
They don’t follow my lead – is that enough for you
In order to survive or accomplish this, you are going to have to step way outside of your box.
What changes do you expect to make and which of them will be the most difficult?
To get out of this – Id do anything – I need to beat them at their own game – destroy the contract, smash the deal by any means – play a gig at hells door if need be
What habits or ways of thinking do you think will be the most difficult to let go of?
The magic dust – I need that to get where Im going – looking after the others – its my band right, otherwise it all falls apart
What fears, insecurities and wounds have held you back?
I’m a total control freak, we never make any money I can’t let go of the leadership – I’m work vampire hours – the wheel never stops turning
fear of failure – Im not a natural – I have to practice hard – a miss is as good as a mile – we might not make it with everything thats stacked against us
What skills, background or expertise makes you well-suited to face this conflict or antagonist?
you stand on the soldiers of giants – my axe is my weapon – i’ve played on every record thats ever been made in the past two years but nobody knows my name – we’ll take them all by surpris – I could die in a ditch and no-one would know – I can conjure fireworks and banshees from this guitar
What are you hiding from the other characters? What don’t you want them to know?
If we dont complete the tour – it all goes to hell – everythings on the line – music, the future everything- and they wont see a penny
What do you think of ?
Old Nicks? She’s a devil, vindictive, curious creature- brutal and viscious – out for revenge
Tell me your side of this whole conflict / story.
Well I could have done without the jepardy – I was setup – just a pawn in the bigger game
Now I have to win to save music for the world – as well as saving my immortal soul
What does it do for your life is you succeed here?
