    Renee’s Horror Plot
What I learned… A Lot!! This is the assignment that begins everything. We all attack this assignment different and for me the great layout is my biggest / toughest part.
This assignment cemented in the fact I needed more victims/players. Each plays their unique part in adding to the story, the plot and all the ghoulish gore slashed victim entertainment.

Great assignment. I labored through this one. But man o man I like what I got.

    Renee’s Characters for Horror
What I learned… I was thinking of my boring story with the usual bad boy suspects and realized with this assignment what it needs. More Cow Bell!!!
They are All Sinners. Diirty Rotten all of them and all deserve what they get. Hopefully the audience will see it my way.

They will be One by One, set up, BAM-boozled and slowly have their last breath squeezed out of them.

Ahhhh what fun. Great assignment. Thanks Hal.

“What I learned doing this assignment is.. I learned so much more. Details. I’m sure more will come to me. This is a great lesson. It so made me think. I have reminded myself of the Dark Triad to help me understand my Monster. I need to stop thinking like an old outdated woman to complete the task of creating my Monster. It is interesting. I really never believed I could achieve what I have so far. Again, what a great lesson. Thank you.

    Hello all,

I’m Renee. I hope to get a good script out of this class. About me…. I need a computer soooo bad. It takes forever to make this thing do what I need it to do. I can’t explain dragging my feet. One of these days I will end my torment and make the leap. Until then I will continue in my dread.

    ASSIGNMENT
    What I Learned…
So I think I’m gonna make mine more of a Horror/Comedy. I don’t know, still tossing it around. I watched a few and Zombieland seems to be what I’m looking for. Not a ton of dialogue but the action is BAM! The Zombies are so disgusting. They are quick on their feet and present a very deadly threat. They are tough to kill and will find you.
    Title / Concept: Zombieland
Terrorize The Characters: Chased by Zombies
    Isolation: They’re everywhere. Bathroom stalls….
Death: To be eaten by a Zombie
Monster/Villain: Zombies – blood drooling, vomiting, broken and limping, half rotting Zombies
High Tension: Being chased by Zombies. Fighting off Zombies. They were Great Scary as Hell Zombies!! And they were Everywhere!!
Departure from Reality: When would it be impossible to find a Twinkie? And when would we ever go around shooting Zombies? Only when we’re the only sane people walking and a Zombie is eating the intestines of their loved one in the street.
Moral Statement: Family and/or belonging to a group we bond with is all we need.
Fun to watch. Made me jump a couple of times.

4 What I learned…. I went back to this assignment. I see more of each character. Took better notes of who they are. This will go a long way into their dialogue and actions. I have a better understanding of romance and how to get them there. We are all so complicated but in fantasy land of movies /story telling it only takes 4 traits to create great memorable and lovable characters that we hope will succeed. I also have a better understanding how to reel in and capture a better character if I don’t stray away from 4 traits but emphasize them. I will say I am taking more time to think about my stories than I used to.

So…. my existing project I knew has an unclear direction – a good beginning and …. the end. I learned so much more about how to form the direction with a great logline. Still not great but it’s a start. I realize how to give my lead characters the direction their story needs to go in. It’s embarrassing to admit but I labored over this. My logline is coming together. My script is a comedy farce with many characters and their stories. It might make a better TV series but I’m going to complete the feature and see where it takes me/it.

    Renee’s Rom Com Project
What I Learned… I have a really good idea. It’s fresh and ridiculous but it’s so incomplete. I discovered some of the pieces my story needed. I may not have the complete new story layout but I do believe I am on the road to fix my comedy. Great assignment.

    2. How many scripts you’ve written? several but…..
    3. What you hope to get out of the class? I have a comedy that needs work. With the help of your AI class and some re-thinking I’m hoping to finally pull it off.
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I really don’t think there’s anything special about me. I’m plainer than plain. So I do like flowers. I believe flowers in a room or growing in a pot or garden is everything. Even fake flowers where there’s now sun or water. They’re everything. anyway, that’s me. Nice to meet you all.
We look forward to working with you all!

Subject line: Renee’s Hero and Villain
W.I.L. …. I am seeing one of my mistakes. You worded it pretty good above – I do it more than I realize and I recognize (in parts) that I stray. I’ll explain – I tend to let my characters slip away from the storyline of ACTION and slide into DRAMA. It’s obvious it takes away from their great traits of ACTION /ADVENTURE down the rabbit hole of Drama and also significantly alters dialogue and then the storyline is off track.
I like my Hero. I really dislike my Villain. So that’s all good.
This was a great assignment. I’m not sure how I want it to end yet. But the cogs are turning. The Villain will die for sure but my Hero and his girl may die also because of their story. My one thought on that is that in 3:10 to Yuma, several people stated they were disappointed to see Christian Bale’s character die in the end. Something to think about. I don’t want the audience leaving feeling cheated. I guess that settles that.

    Hello All, I’m Renee.
I’ve written a few scripts that I really enjoyed but none are good enough. I have two that I think have the best possibilities.
I am hoping to redo the storyline, improve my characters, create better dialogue and end up with a script with legs.
ODD / NEW I lead a very boring life. Mundane. I live in a small gated senior community and I have a stalker. It leaves something askew to let me know it was around/watching. It is not friendly. I could say more but can’t give it too much of my time as it has given me chills (thinking I was alone outside at night – I wasn’t) and disrupted my life.
So I will sink into my writing and maybe it will get bored and move on to someone else.

    Renee’s Character Interviews

What I learned… again this is a rewrite for me. I enjoyed the questions as they revealed more about the characters I fell in love with. A great opportunity for enhancement.

My Protag shows much more emotion. He will go from confident but naive to nervous and struggling with cluelessness until he bursts, ending with his confidence back but wiser.

My first Antag is Very full of emotion. His emotion starts the story and keeps it going. If I do this correctly the audience should be able to look back and see how he carefully (with a few calculated mis-steps) disguised himself.

My second Antag – I Love, Love, Love him. He is So Cool, So Calculating and On and So Very Handsome. Who wouldn’t be taken by him? Again if done correctly, the audience should be able to look back and see how he disguised himself.

This assignment is again very good to refresh secondary characters also.

    Renee’s Character Profiles Part 2

What I learned…. to exagerate an target the traits of not only my main characters but my secondary characters. They ALL have a purpose and need to bring their personalities along with their professions to fulfill their roles and properlycomplete the story.

As I am doing a rewrite, I see errors I did not notice before. I did not keep characters true to their traits and focused on their roles. I also did not give them their due. I now have my opportunity to make them shine.

Great Assignment. Made me think. I’ve been busy with this one. Thank you

    Renee’s Character Profiles Part 1

What I learned… I love this ridiculous story. It still makes me laugh. I do see where I need to amp it up. Great class!

Protag – Angel – Runner – if skirt chasing was a profession this guy puts in overtime. He got himself in too deep staring at Hot Wife in her bikini and ends up ducking buckshot from a very jealous Oil Baron. Now he’s on the run. Good Luck, Angel.

    3. Pick the type of role your Antagonist will play and give us a few sentences on how they will fulfill that role.

    I have 2 Antagonists

Antag 1 – Oil Baron – Villain – So jealous of anyone looking at his Hot Wife that he loses control of himself. The more side Characters stir the pot the more He keeps the chase going.

Antag 2 – The Enigma – Change Agent – He’s so smooth and brilliant – What a fucking hustler. Always on top of the game, because it is only a game to him. Who the fuck is he anyway?

    4. Other characters

Supporting characters: Hot Wife, Snarky Housekeeper at mansion,
    Enigma’s friends at trailer park
    Minor roles: Naïve Maid,
    trailer park residents
    Background characters: Trailer
    park residents

    5. Genre.

    Rom-Com or Buddy Movie – I have
    a Comedy Farce. I get that it’s a
tough sell but I believe I have a good handle on it. WTF do I have to lose?

Running behind . will post what I have

    Lesson 1

    Renee’s Transformational journey.

What I learned doing this assignment … his Old Ways need to be more extreme and noticeable.

Angel is my Hero. His Character Arc that represents a transformation – He actually cares about crazy old Granny and the where and how she spends her last years.

Internal Journey: The more she displays the loss of memory and her emotional rollercoaster, the more Angel is truly concerned. (So initially he is stumped at her odd behavior. )

External Journey: Initially he makes excuses for her because he needs a place to stay. He then covers for her and eventually changes the world around her to make her comfortable.

Old Ways – selfish & arrogant, only wants the best of everything, user, Total f’ing skirt chaser

New Ways – understanding, focused on dating lady cop, caring

Hello All, I’m Renee. I’ve been out of the writing loop for a while. I have a couple of good scripts that didn’t go anywhere so my intent is to dust one of them off and fix it.

I’m nobody 9 – 5’er. I’m at a chop shop all day and am in the process of packing and moving mid February. Apologizes in advance for falling behind but I’ve been looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and my fun fun script.

Odd?…. hmmm well the shelves are almost bare. Boxes and boxes (some stacked to the ceiling) and I don’t miss a thing. I am so not looking forward to unpacking all this crap.

Anyway, Hey Hal and Cheryl – good to be home. This is going to be fun.
