      INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

DEE BAKER walks through the halls. Having retrieved the WEAPON from the SAFE, she now looks for SAMI, not knowing that the DOPPELGÄNGER has already killed him.

She hears strange sounds coming from a room. She creeps forward to investigate, weapon in hand, but it is just SAMI.

      SAMI

      Hey, What’s that your holding.

      DEE

Nothing, What are you doing here. Shouldn’t you be laying the trap.

      SAMI

Oh Right. I started looking for you because I had a few questions about it.

SAMI and DEE walk through the halls together, awkwardly, until they reach the exit.

      EXT—SCHOOL—DAY

As they walk out DEE starts to notice signs of struggle. Broken objects. Blood, and finally SAMI’s corpse. DEE pulls the weapon, but struggles to fire it long enough for the DOPPELGÄNGER to turn around and plead.

      SAMI

Whoa whoa whoa. What are you doing.

      DEE (in tears):

      Trying to end this.

      SAMI:

It doesn’t have to be this way. Remember how long we’ve known each other.

      DEE:

I knew him, (pointing to the corpse) not you. And now you murdered him.

      She looks away, and fires.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

As SAMI walks through the halls, he hears something fall. He then approaches to investigate.

    INT—SCHOOL/CLASSROOOM—DAY

SAMI enters, but finds two DEES. Both figures have their legs tied to a CHAIR, but one has a SILVER DAGGER near them. He asks both one question, and then another each asking a different double first. While the DOPPELGÄNGER, who answered first second, is pondering, DEE grabs the DAGGER frees her legs, and they run off together.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

In their hasty escape, they trip over a dead body that appears to have been badly burned. SAMI pulls out a CAMERA or PHONE and takes a picture, saying “this could come in handy.”

Jackson’s Level 3 Horror Emotion Scene

What I learned: To flesh out scenes to better terrify the audience.

    INT—SCHOOL/CAFETERIA—DAY

DEE, SAMI, and ASHER make it to the CAFETERIA. They see a few other students there including MITCH. They then talk by the lunch counters about what this monster is, and what they know so far.

They see another student coming; one student recognizes that that one has died. They try to close the gates, but the DOPPELGÄNGER grabs one of the students closing them, ASHER. They threaten ASHER with death if SAMI closes it. SAMI nonetheless tries but the MONSTER slips past as it shuts, pulling Asher under it. They slowly move closer to the group, MITCH grabs a handful of PLASTIC KNIVES and begins throwing them at the monster, charging, but stopped by the alien’s electricity draining ability, while the others frantically search for anything. One opens the freezer; the monster is slowed. They flee out of an exit at the back of the kitchen.ou

    Anguish: Asher in trouble

    Panic: The monster is here

Horror: The monster has killed two of us, and we only have one way to escape. Not all of us will make it.

Hysteria: After all of these encounters the monster is still out there, they still need to get the weapon, and their friends are dead.

As they enter they hear someone screaming that they are trapped with a monster. MR. SAPIENTIA slowly walks up to investigate; they see someone who appears to be the missing student EMILY WILLIAMS. They begin freeing them first untying their arm bonds, but they gruesomely kill him, to siphon his energy.

    Later:

    INT—SCHOOL/EMPTY CLASSROOM—DAY

ASHER, 16, MATT CHRISTOPHER, 15, EMILY, and OSCAR, a curious 14 year old, all run to the room that they found EMILY in. They know a killer is lurking somewhere. Jackson’s Horror Outline (Version 1)

What I learned: How to combine the different elements of the story so far.

    EXT—HIGH SCHOOL—MIDDAY

A line of buses awaits outside.

    INT—HIGH SCHOOL/CLASSROOM— MIDDAY

It is lightly snowing. While students are taking their final, MR. SAPIENTIA,64, walks around the classroom. DEE BAKER, 15, and her friend SAMI BURHAN talk about her getting arrested for breaking and entering. A student complains that is unfair that SAMI and DEE get to sit together, and the teacher replies they should have made more friends closer to their last name. Also, DAIYU, a class clown, makes a joke at ERMINA’s expense.

Throughout this time, buses are called.

    INT—HIGH SCHOOL/LUNCHROOM—MIDDAY

Three friends sit at a lunch table, talking first about both D&D and the musical. WILL GARCIA, Sami’s boyfriend and a member of the crew, is trying to convince the others to both participate in Dungeons and Dragons and view the play. DEE asks SAMI if he wants any PEANUT BUTTER PRETZELS, knowing he is allergic, to which he replies “Shut up”. When ASHER BHARGAVA and JOHN MOROZ arrive, they switch to talking about the SERIAL KILLER, knowing it would freak JOHN out. The conversation is light, joking about who they might think it is, when riders of Bus 273, ridden by the law-abiding BHARGAVA, to report to the Front Office.

    INT—HIGH SCHOOL/FRONT OFFICE—A FEW MINUTES PAST MIDDAY

The PRINCIPAL asks if anyone has seen a particular TOY WEAPON, brought to school today, clearly more suspicious of ASHER. The BUS DRIVER gives a quick explanation of it primarily where it was found.

The PRINCIPAL asks again, and threatens their bus will be grounded until they get some answers.

The WEAPON goes off, seemingly by itself, when someone steps close to it. It fires aimlessly, but hits the BUS DRIVER causing them to fall to their knees in pain, and curse **** ****.

    ACT I

    INT—SCHOOL/LUNCHROOM—DAY

A lockdown has begun. The cafeteria is in Chaos. Food, lunch trays, and backpacks are thrown everywhere as students race to escape.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

DEE and SAMI are walking towards their classroom, talking about their situation. DEE hears a teacher approaching, so she walks around to see what they are doing.

They see a TEACHER shivering as they walk through the halls, muttering about how cold it is.

The teacher sees them and pursues them, reprimanding them for being in the hallways as they run. DEE and SAMI rush into the classroom.

    INT—SCHOOL/CLASSROOM—DAY

They come into class. The Students sit down, and the students talk, quietly. ASHER, eyes darting to the window, conveys worry about the coming blizzard. DEE jumps in saying that he is lucky he won’t be walking home. But soon the WALKIE-TALKIE crackles to life saying the lockdown has ended, and the situation has resolved.

    ACT II

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

EMILY WILLIAMS and ERMINA EITEL, two girls in a popular clique walk down the hall. As EITEL enters the BATHROOM, EMILY is grabbed from behind by the TEACHER. As ERMINA walks out, the teacher has already begun siphoning EMILY’S energy, and, when they see her, the alien runs away, leaving ERMINA to walk back.

    INT—SCHOOL/CLASSROOM—DAY

ERMINA sprints into the classroom, quickly explaining the situation, and then pleading to them to go out and look, causing the classroom to get into an argument until SAPIENTIA offers a compromise.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

ERMINA and DAIYU walk out into the hall, eager to find their friend. They hear someone coming, and DAIYU begins to flee. ERMINA grabs them and pushes them to the floor so she can get away. Even so, as they leave, drops of blood splatter on their clothes, but they are able to make it back to the classroom.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

After the agreed upon twenty minutes go by, the class leaves to look for EMILY.

    INT—SCHOOL/EMPTY CLASSROOM—DAY

As they enter they hear someone screaming. MR. SAPIENTIA walks up to investigate; they see someone who appears to be the missing student EMILY WILLIAMS. They begin freeing them first untying their arm bonds. As they begin on the leg bonds, EMILY’ reaches out and absorbs SAPIENTIA’s current, killing him. EMILY then scratches herself and making it look like something attacked her, and they along with EMILY leave.

    INT—SCHOOL/CLASSROOM—DAY

Everyone is talking about what they saw. They are asking EMILY questions who tries to divide them with her answers, which she uses to say it is a ghost. Eventually, she causes their relationships to fracture, prompting them to split up into smaller groups, despite protest from SAMI, WILL, DEE, and JOHN, a doubter of most things not clearly proven.

    INT—SCHOOL/EMPTY CLASSROOM—DAY

ASHER, 16, MATT CHRISTOPHER, 15, EMILY, and OSCAR, a curious 14 year old, all run to the room that they found EMILY in. They rummage through closets searching for anything that might reveal anything about this killer. EMILY calls OSCAR back to show him something. MATT rummages through a closet, and finds a burned, drained, body, but still clear enough to tell it is EMILY’s. They try to call OSCAR, but when he walks out he was holding the real one’s corpse. MATT and ASHER flee to the LIBRARY.

    INT—SCHOOL/LIBRARY—DAY

The Students look for Science-Fiction, and Astronomy books and sit down to study them at desks mostly hidden from view. The DOPPELGÄNGER enters as OSCAR, and they chase the students through the otherwise empty library, slowed down by the students desperately throwing books at them. The DOPPELGÄNGER relentlessly pursues them when they get to an intersection they split up, knowing the DOPPELGÄNGER can only follow one of them; the DOPPELGÄNGER follows ASHER, but loses him soon after.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

JOHN and NATHAN are passing their classroom, when OSCAR appears. JOHN welcomes OSCAR, and when they reveal themselves as the DOPPELGÄNGER NATHAN does not stop them from draining their friend’s energy. Rather, NATHAN watches from a distance while the DOPPELGÄNGER drains their energy, and only flees when it starts slowly pursuing. When it is clear NATHAN will outrun it they turn around.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

ERMINA walks through the halls alone, muttering about how she doesn’t need anyone else, and how she is confident that she can get the monster to switch sides, or at least not kill her. The DOPPELGÄNGER is following her, and jumps when they get the chance, draining her current.

INT—SCHOOL/HALL INTERSECTION OR CLASS AT END OF THE HALL—DAY

NATHAN stumbles upon a room where three students are beating up his seemingly helpless crush, ERMINA EITEL, who is pleading for help. NATHAN leaps to her aid, only thinking about what he is doing after he knocked the last one unconscious. ERMINA seems to have suddenly more energy, and TYSON COOPER, a jock, bursts through the doors, looking for ASHER, who learned First Aid, while holding the dazed body of ERMINA EITEL. NATHAN realizes he helped the DOPPELGÄNGER, and then switches sides, helping TYSON attempt to fight her. They are completely unprepared, and massacred, so the villain gleefully drinks all of their energy, and salvages their belongings.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

WILL and DEE are alone. WILL thinks he sees something, but when DEE looks they don’t see it. The monster storms out grabs SAMI and disappears again. WILL runs, believing they cannot fight them, and explains the situation to SAMI.

    ACT III

    INT—SCHOOL/CLASSROOM—DAY

The DOPPELGÄNGER, now appearing as TYSON, is trying to find out what DEE knows. DEE refuses, pointing to the fact that ‘TYSON’ used to bully her and SAMI. TYSON then uses their siphoning to paralyze DEE, and take their form when they hear someone coming, and leave their SILVER DAGGER nearby DEE. As SAMI comes in he notices the two

DEES. He asks both of them the same question. DEE correctly answers first, but the DOPPELGÄNGER copies off DEE. Then they start with the DOPPELGÄNGER and while they are thinking, SAMI pushes them into a wall, while DEE is freeing herself with a nearby DAGGER. She picks up the DAGGER and together they flee.

They now know how to check identities, and they use this when they see ASHER wandering through the halls. They talk for a little bit when they see the DOPPELGÄNGER, as TYSON, approaching. The VILLAIN chases them through the halls until they are behind a locked door. The monster slowly walks towards them, as DEE begins picking the lock. She unlocks it just as the MONSTER is getting ready to lunge, and the three of them scurry in to a room connected to another room near the cafeteria.

    INT—SCHOOL/CHEMISTRY LAB—DAY

WILL GARCIA enters the lab, they sit down and begin preparing different tests, to try to see what the alien reacts to.

They try to close the gates, but the DOPPELGÄNGER grabs one of the students closing them. They threaten DAVE with death if DAVE closes it. DAVE nonetheless tries but the MONSTER slips past as it shuts, pushing DAVE under it. They slowly move closer to the group, MITCH grabs a handful of PLASTIC KNIVES, and begins throwing them at the monster while the others frantically search for anything. One opens the freezer; the monster retreats after the onslaught, and, soon after, DEE, SAMI, and ASHER, leave to find their friend.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY.

Where WILL used to stand, there is only a coded note, telling them they went to the CHEMISTRY LAB.

    INT—SCHOOL/CHEMISTRY LAB—DAY

They enter the CHEMISTRY LAB, where they find a humanoid fleeing with WILL and they find Will’s notes.

SAMI wants to follow them ; ASHER believes it is a trap, and cautions them from going. They, nonetheless, depart, while ASHER continues his research. He makes more vials, loads them in his bag, and departs looking for his companions.

    INT-SCHOOL/CLASSROOM—DAY

They track the MONSTER to a small classroom, where WILL is being siphoned. When the MONSTER sees them, they drop WILL’s dead body to the floor and runs away leaving them to mourn.

    Later…

SAMI made up his mind. There is only one way to defeat this.

    INT—SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

    ASHER sees WILL approaching.

He welcomes WILL, but refers to him as DALE. WILL then attacks ASHER, but he is able to squirm out of his grasp, and then flee. WILL calls ASHER a DOPPELGÄNGER, and he chases him down the hall until ASHER reaches an EXIT. ASHER asks how he survived alone, and, in response, WILL opens his mouth revealing a set of sharp teeth.

    EXT—HIGH SCHOOL—DAY

He looks out and debates going to the snow or facing the doppelgänger. He sighs and breaks his vials, scattering the glass, heated on the bunsen burner, throughout the hall. The DOPPELGÄNGER walks right through it all, and only then does ASHER desperately push. He walks out, followed closely by the DOPPELGÄNGER, who begins to freeze. The student bangs on a door, but the DOPPELGÄNGER catches him, kills him, and then unlocks it with a stolen teacher’s key, and enters the HALLWAY OUTSIDE THE SMALL CLASSROOM, and walks past looking for sources of warmth, muttering about the frigid air.

    INT-HIGH SCHOOL/HALLWAY OUTSIDE SMALL CLASSROOM

SAMI and DEE are ready to leave, when DEE hears someone entering the building. They hide when the DOPPELGÄNGER walks past.

    INT—HIGH SCHOOL/KITCHEN—AFTERNOON

SAMI looks for sources of PEANUTS throughout the CAFETERIA, while DEE protests. SAMI and DEE argue. DEE eventually gives in, on the condition it is to be used as a backup only, and they use the lunch money at the checkout to get peanuts from the VENDING MACHINE.

    INT—HIGH SCHOOL/HALLWAY—DAY

When the DOPPELGÄNGER comes they flee towards the exit. The DOPPELGÄNGER follows them, but this time they are dressed in warmer clothing. The cold might not have as much of an effect. SAMI asks DEE to promise she will stick to the plan, and when she does he charges the DOPPELGÄNGER with an IRON POLE lying nearby. The DOPPELGÄNGER easily fends him off but their fight causes the MONSTER’s back to turn towards DEE. DEE sees the dagger and the peanuts, but decides to pull out the DAGGER and stab the MONSTER to keep them from hurting her friend. Her life force is beginning on draining when she drops the dagger. The MONSTER’s form begins shifting from SAMI to DEE, until SAMI grabs the dagger telling DEE to do it. She apologizes, but SAMI forgave her. As it is solidifies to match SAMI’S skin, DEE painfully tears open the PEANUT BAG, and lets them fall triggering allergic contact dermatitis. That, along with the cold, is enough to defeat it, as it is crippled from this and the cold.

    EXT—SIDEWALK—DAY

DEE BAKER, for the first time since she met SAMI, is walking home alone.

    Act I

The last day before Winter Break. Most Students are on a field trip, and seniors were allowed to skip.

Connect with Characters: Protagonists are in a classroom. While other students are finishing their finals, they discuss one getting arrested for breaking and entering. The teacher makes an announcement saying “feel free to eat a snack but try to avoid causer of allergy (peanut butter). I would hate for anyone, especially one of the only ones who pays attention, to have a reaction on the last day of school.”

Atmosphere of Evil Established: It begins at a table where one person is trying to convince the others to try D&D, and see the Musical which they helped in. One person then leaves and joins a table where they are discussing rumors about serial killer. Starts out jokingly, and then it turns serious when someone tells that they actually saw them when walking home from soccer practice.

Reaction: The others laugh, while the speaker tries to defend themself.

Over the intercom, riders on bus 273 are called. One student at the table gets up and leaves, after the others realizing that was their bus, the others teasing them about the serial killer.

They go to the front office where they are asked about a strange weapon found on the bus.

A lockdown begins due to an ongoing investigation on the weapon, and what happened when it was fired.

Two administrators are walking the halls, and they split up when they get to a crossroads.

Situation: A teacher is chasing two kids.

Reaction: The students hide in a closet/locker/ whatever is big enough for two people until they go away, where they find the administrator’s dead body.

    Act II

    The previously unmentioned snowstorm intensifies

Situation: Two students are walking through the halls. The one following is grabbed first as the other enters a location.

Reaction: they fight to escape their grapple, loses, and is drained of their current enough to be put in an unconscious state until…

the other is attacked by the monster as they exit.

The monster carries them towards an abandoned classroom where they drain the unconscious student’s electricity, with their friend watching, taking the drained’s form.

The monster returns to the classroom, telling the other was kidnapped, spurring the others to act.

Situation: Mr. Sapientia, is killed by the villain, after closing the door he needed to get out, and pretending to warn him that something was coming.

Reaction: the others flee, and the kidnapped person stumbles out. leaving Sapientia’s drained body inside.

    Midpoint

They head back to class. The monster can take the form of any of its victims. They don’t know who to trust. The seemingly innocent and traumatized rescued person plants seeds of betrayal in the group.

Reaction: Their relationships fracture and end up splitting up into groups of three or four.

Character 3 and 4 are walking through the halls. 4 can go a lot faster than 3, so he feels as if 3 is holding him back.

The bookish Sami and his neighbor Dee Baker, and his boyfriend the actor wander the halls, on edge, looking for anyone else.

The curious Student 12, intelligent 8, and the nondescript 10 look for clues about this killer.

The jock, and his two buddies wander around taking the opportunity to skip.

The cowardly class clown, and the law-abiding Jen Erick stay in the classroom.

Situation: As 3 and 4 pass by the classroom, they see a person approaching— character 9. Rather than staying quiet, 3, the innocent, says hello to 9 who is the doppelgänger in disguise. Character 4 now sees his friend as a liability, and doesn’t stop the monster from draining his friend’s energy.

Reaction: he flees down the hall, as his friend mutters some curses, and sarcastic comments at him.

Situation lured into trap: Student 12 finds some footprints leading down one area. 8 cautions them against it, but they go anyway.

Character Death: The sound of their death is heard offscreen. Others run, both trying to escape the doppelgänger, and trying to make it to the library. They run past the classroom and the characters in there hide.

Situation: they look for any books. Grabbing both fiction, and nonfiction (Exoplanets, the War of the Worlds…) they sit down and begin studying them. The doppelgänger enters and chases them through the otherwise abandoned library.

Reaction: they run away lobbing science fiction and nonfiction in the 520s.

Situation: 4 was fleeing the monster when he stumbles upon his crush, the popular 14, who is being attacked by three students. The popular kid rushes to her aid, and beats up the other kids. Then, the jock and his buddies arrive. The jock is holding the popular person’s corpse.

Reaction: They fight and lose to the doppelgänger who gleefully drains their energy.

Situation: In another part of the school, Dee and the actor are alone. Baker sees someone approaching, but it is the doppelgänger and they grab Dee and take them to a quieter location. Believing they cannot fight them, the actor rushes off to tell Sami instead, but saying they aren’t ready for a fight. They make plans to meet instead, and Sami goes to save his friend.

    Act III

Situation: The villain is about to kill Dee when they hear footsteps approaching. It is Sami. He opens the door and find two Dees. One is a copy, but which. He asks both a question, first Dee, and the doppelgänger copies her answer. Then, he asks the villain first, and when they are distracted thinking, he pushes a bookcase on them. Then, he helps free Dee, who grabs the monster’s dagger.

Reaction: they run as the monster screams in anger, momentarily forgetting about Dee.

Situation: Characters 8 meets up with Dee and Sami. They exchange stories until they see a person walking down the halls.

Reaction: Dee tries to pick the lock, and unlocks it just in time. They rush inside slamming it on the monster. They look around, and see the bodies of the students that hid, and 8 determines the cause of death (being drained of electricity).

Situation: The door opens to the kitchen where there are maybe two other people. Dave and Mitch. Mitch is an excellent juggler, and can throw knives, but is afraid of nearly everything else, and Dave is a quiet mysterious sort of person. They see a figure at the far side of the cafeteria, charging to the lunch line.

Reaction: They close the gate, but the villain pulls one person’s body through just as it closes. Leaving them stuck. As the gate is propped up, they move it slightly more and then slip through.

Situation: The monster gets closer and closer to their newest victims.

Reaction: The students dig furiously through cabinets. One opens the freezer to inhibit their progress, and as the blast of cold air hits them. As they try to shift to escape they experience trouble, and only later can they make it through.

Dee, Sami and eight leave the kitchen, as they think they have an idea of possible retribution the monster may have. They make their way to the meeting place and, as they feared their friend is not there, finding only a note.

Situation:They go to the room where the monster said to meet. They see the monster interrogating the actor. When the villain notices them, they kill the actor, and give the characters the broken body.

Reaction: Sami is stunned at what happened.

They run to the cafeteria, grab some rope and race outside to the snow. As the villain charges out their skin begins to freeze, leaving them incapacitated. They emerge from their hiding spot to spread the peanut butter all over them hoping to cause an allergic reaction. It is working,

They take the actor’s form (also inheriting their allergies) and pursue the characters.

What I learned: to write an outline without getting too stuck in little details, and, also, to keep moving forward.

The atmosphere of evil, connections with characters, and are warned not to do it are all established by rumor and conversation in the first scene.

The horror is denied when the lockdown ended, and their safety is shown to be taken away when the lockdown begins.

The way of the beast: The monster a) kills a teacher and takes their form or b) grabs the curious student 12.

    Act II

Isolated/Trapped/Abducted: A snowstorm begins or increases in intensity, and their teacher or friend is taken.

One of us killed: The teacher dies.

    Midpoint

Full Pursuit: characters don’t know who to trust; the monster takes form after form.

Terrorized: Because the characters do not know who to trust, their relationships fracture, causing them to split up.

    Act III

    The fight to the death:

    1) The villain (posing as character 14, 4’s crush) calls for help. 4 helps beat up the people attacking the doppelgänger. Then, the athletic 7 convinces 4 to switch sides, causing them both to be massacred.

    2) They battle the villain, and manage to tie them up, but they shift into a more narrow form, allowing them to slip out of their bonds, and grab character 8, siphoning their energy. Character 1 stabs the monster, subduing them, (but not before they release extra stored electricity causing 1 to fly across the room) [dead? injured?].

    Escape from death

    a) 2 has to identify their friend from the doppelgänger. Once he does, 2 frees herself, and they try to trap them under some object.

    b) The doppelgänger nearly catches them, but 1 is able to pick the lock just in time revealing 13’s hidden corpse, killed by loss of electrical current.

    c) 1, 2, and 8, make their way to a classroom where they see the villain interrogating character 6. They both siphon electricity to torture character 6 whom character 2 likes, and when they notice the students standing outside, they drop the lifeless body of 6 and then pursue the others.

    d) The monster chases them outside, where they are greeted by freezing conditions.

Death Returns to take one more: They kill 8 after slipping from their bonds and possibly character 4.

Hysteria: The doppelgänger kills the person 2 likes in front of them, and then pursues them.

Resolution: They make their way through the storm to find a police barricade, where they explain the situation, though the police don’t believe them.

Character 4 – the Doppelgänger uses their desire to be popular to fracture their friendship

Student 6 – Very passionate about acting and RPGs. Dating Student 2.

Student 7 – an arrogant athlete

    Jackson’s Terrifying Monster (Draft 1)

My monster is a Humanoid that can take others forms through feeding on a human’s natural electrical currents.

They terrorize by impersonating others to feed on the electrical current they generate.

They Pursue by manipulating and tricking others, causing them to believe that the monster is an ally until they strike.

They isolate by causing people to be terrified to the point of trusting no one, and when they venture out alone, they strike

What is the most terrible thing they do

Impersonate someone, but leave them semi-conscious and have them watch the villain lead their allies to their doom.

    How do they cause death,

They drain the electricity from their victims, and disrupt the current inside them.

    What makes this inescapable

They can disguise themselves as anyone; you do not know whom to trust.

Mystery: Who is this monster, and how do we recognize it.

Weapons:A fencing foil made entirely out of silver.

Rules: Siphons electricity from victims to feed on, which depending on the amount, cause them to be stunned, unconscious or killed. They cannot siphon through insulators of electricity, but can through conductors, such as steel, silver, or gold. Also, through this siphon, they can steal one’s form.

    Mythology:

After they crashed, they have been honing their skills for around the last five hundred years, acting as several serial killers, or hiding in the shadows to feed on humans.

Maybe four or five very short scripts for a Audio Video class during the school year plus I worked on two short film scripts over the semester as part of a club, and created another with a group for a camp.

I hope to learn how to write better scripts in general, and horror ones, as I do not have much practice in the area.

I love playing Dungeons and Dragons, doing math (especially geometric proofs), and talking backwards.

    “Nightbooks” Horror Conventions

I learned about the elements of a horror film.

They were isolated from the rest of society in a witch’s apartment with no way to get out.

The witch threatens them with death if they do not tell a scary story every night, and turns them into tiny ceramic statues if they do not obey.

Monster: Natasha the Witch , who lures kids into a traveling apartment.

High Tension: The kids have to escape , before Alex runs out of story ideas, or else they would die.

Departure From Reality: It is uncommon for a person tricked into going into a witch’s house, and then being forced to do tasks. Also, the house itself had more space than seemingly was possible to fit in it.

Moral Statement: It talked about the value of friendship, and the dilemna of lying to protect friends.

    3. It was decent, and I think, for the most part, it followed the pattern of elements.

Concept: A shapeshifting alien tries to disrupt normal activity, and cause trust to fall between characters.

Terrorize the Characters: They don’t know who to trust, and, because of the shapeshifter’s efforts, their relationships fall apart.

Isolation: Thanks to their lack of trust, the doppelgänger can lead them into situations where they are all alone, and easier to fool.

Death: The monster kills beings to steal, and use, their forms.

Monster/Villain: A shapeshifter capable of taking the form of any being they kill.

High Tension: The villain uses their shapeshifting to cause things to go wrong and cause people to turn against one another.

Departure from Reality: Alien shapeshifter is posing as a student as a spaceship is spotted.

Moral Statement: People should always try to support one another especially in times of peril.
