    Sample Show: Game of Thrones

Big Hook: The medieval, castle drama that involves not only typical knight-like characters you would normally see but has little people, kids, and even dragons pushing the story.

    Intriguing Characters:

Daenerys Targaryen: former slave, Daenerys rises to power because of her psycho fixation on becoming the queen of the world. She’s likable because of her strong female prescence while at the same time being a badass. She’s kinda evil.

Tyrion Lannester: former hand of the king, Tyrion is really good at manipulating those who are less weak minded. It should be mentioned that he’s pretty smart, and has managed to survive in the dangerous Thrones world because of his wit, charm, funny jokes.

Arya: Youngest daughter of Eddard stark, Arya is also a badass but is empathetic and will help out those in need despite her rebelliousness and eventual murderous and vicious attitudes.

Jaime Lannister: A once hot headed kind of beautiful brute, Jaime starts off as your typical evil knight, looking for powerful and shitting on those below him. But he grows into a more empathetic person having been in captivity for so long and the people he meets and forms relationships with along the way.

    Empathy/Distress:

The people in thrones are in distress because of the constant pain of lost ones and manipulation being done to the characters.

There’s empathy sometimes when a character dies, doesn’t get what they want, or is crippled for some reason.

    Open Loops:

Which kingdom will rule the other Kingdoms?

Will Tyrion finally find a true love?

Will Daenerys come out on top or will someone else rule?

    Inviting Obsession:

What I learned from the exercise: This show is binge worthy because there are so many likeable and interesting characters. People love the medieval castle drama shit so that will always be a hook if produced well with good characters. Part of the reason it’s binge worthy is the violence and sex, and Tyrion and Arya in my opinion carry the show with their strong and interesting personalities.
